Plug your iPhone or iPad into your USB and in iTunes there's an update button once you select your device on the left. It'll update you to the new iOS7. Took about 5 or 10 minutes for me.

I think it's ugly, but has some nice new features and slick effects.

My wife's work phone got the update yesterday. It seems that the theme changes colors to "match" the background picture. It is horrific. She had pictures of snickerdoodles, and it made all of the dock/icons this weird orange color. Is there a way to make them more transparent? Even as grey they are ugly, but at least it's neutral. I'm not liking the overall look/feel all that much either. I'm sure the functionality will be better though.

Hopefully they'll listen to user feedback and fix it.

A new feature is you can drag lots of apps/icons to a folder. The limit in iOS6 was annoying.

Also, swipe up from the bottom of the screen and you can quickly access the timer, camera, and some key settings.

perhaps one of you can help me. I have an iphone4, which according to the web is compatible with the new ios7. When I go to Settings > Software Update, it shows iOS7 but then says "This update cannot be installed because it requires at least 2.9 GB of storage. You can make more storage available deleting items in Usage Settings." However, I have 3.9 GB of available storage under storage. I restarted my iphone just in case there was a glitch since I had recently removed some apps. But no luck, I can't get the ios7 to be downloadable. Please help.

Haha, my wife has the same phone and got the same message. But she actually didn't have enough storage. Once she deleted a game or two that she never plays (she only uses the phone for work stuff now) it installed fine. And the actual download is much smaller, so don't worry about the new OS taking up nearly 3GB of space.

    go to settings

under general there's a usage section

from there you can delete music or whatever that's taking up room on your phone.

iOS7 runs fine on my iPhone 4.

You just need more than 3.9G to actually install it. It might need 2.9G for the download plus maybe another 2.9G to unpack the downloaded files.

I have a 32G model with ~10GB free. I deleted a few music videos I had on there before doing the upgrade.

Yes, it turned out that under different pages it tells you different amounts of available storage. I erased a few albums that i don't listen to and now it's downloading.

2 days called, they want their news back! C'Mon Denny, The HCP has had this for more than 48 hours and he LOVES it. Faster, smoother better looking than the old OS.

The question is, can the NSA get my fingerprints from this upgrade?

Yeah I read that article about the thumbprint. The new OS or phone doesn't require you to have fingerprint recognition to operate. You can just take that option off.

While I'm curious about the level of security around the fingerprints, I'm skeptical about the NSA's need to get your fingerprint out of a system if they have your phone covered with your greasy fingerprints already.
