8 minutes left in the 1st qtr and Michigan State is up to 7-0 and they just recovered a fumbled punt.

    Notre Dame's D is horrid.

It reminds me of the short lived tenure of Ty Willingham. They lit it up in his first season then got lit up by Oregon St in the Fiesta Bowl. They crashed and burned shortly thereafter. History repeating?

I figured that someone in Michigan would have to choose between cheering for Michigan or Michigan St.? That's how it is in Texas. A person whose favorite team is Texas will never cheer for Texas A&M.

Ditto in Utah. It's either the Univ of Utah or (shudder) BYU.

Right now (37-21 w/ 13 min left), I'd say Anthony Quinn has a better chance of winning the Heisman and getting drafted #1.

I think that he cheers for both Michigan State and Michigan with is an oxymoron but if you want to be the only one who cheers for them both then go ahead. By the way it's never good to be a Lions fan. The Lions suck period.

The only reason why Notre Dame was good last year was because of Willingham's recruits. He did a good job of recruiting whne he was there and if they had let him stay a year longer he could have gotten that team that went to the Fiesta Bowl.

I watched some of the game. Michigan State seemed to be just playing around with the Notre Dame defense but then again sometimes while on defense the Michigan State D didn't look to hot. I'm cheering for Michigan State but if Notre Dame wanted to win badly I think they could come back and score points with ease. Especially with the no huddle offense.

These still are Willingham's recruits...The only way you have any Weis recruits out there is if they're freshmen...

Wow! What a comeback!!! Say what you want about Quinn...nobody in the nation has the ability to put the touch on the ball on a fade pattern like he does. The great receivers he has really helps too.

Here's the sorry thing though...That stupid missed extra point is about to cost me a few dollars. I bet on the Irish to win by 3.5 points....Now it's only 3...stupid kicker!!

It seemed like you were saying they were only good last year cause they had Willingham's recruits and it's like they suddenly aren't that good this year. So the argument that they were only good last year cause of Willingham's recruits doesn't explain why they're stuggling this year.

Quinn really came into a zone in the 2nd half but it was the defense that won this game late. Forced the turnover and picked the ball off. Was a well played game in the 2nd half but Michigan State's offense really got to conservative late. They should of just kept doing what they were doing early on.

Hard to believe that Stanton struggled as much as he did in the 2nd half after a dominant 1st half. Notre Dame brought plenty of pressure on him though. The Notre Dame DL was great in the 2nd half. I thought that they should've used Caulcrick more and tried to run more of the clock out with a punishing running game.

I guess I did say that huh. I think I confused myself. I think they are strugling this year because they have an offensive minded coach. Last year they were good because nobody really knew what to expect from them. It's like Paplebon for the Red Sox, sorry to bring baseball here, but everybody thought he would be an ace. Well once teams got the tapes on him and played him more than once, they knew how to hit against him. Similar with Weiss but put everything about Paplebon into football terminology. Now they know that the Notre Dame defense isn't that great and teams are attacking them.

Give the Notre Dame defense some credit with the way they played in the 2nd half. They were also very good the first two weeks of the season. They are definitely week in the secondary. Zbikowski is a John Lynch type of safety. He's a great hitter and a good team leader, but he's a bit of a liability in pass coverage. Lambert shouldn't be considered to great either despite the two interceptions late in the game.

I still say that last week was a case of people underrating Michigan though. Manningham is turning out to be a big time receiver and Chad Henne is looking more impressive by the week. The Michigan defense is relentless too with guys like Leon Hall, LaMarr Woodley, David Harris, and Prescott Burgess. I'm really hoping that Michigan and Ohio St. are undefeated when it comes time for those two teams to meet up late in the season.
