I was just watching the spurs, suns game the other night. the game where manu ginobli was killin everyone. while i was watching i started spacing out and started thinking bout the bulls season. then i started thinkin bout nocioni and how he and ginobli play so much alike. They both are agressive can score and rebound. So i was wondering if it was just me or has any one else picked there similarities up.
well, nocioni is more like ginobili on the defensive end. That doesnt seem to bother me.. if he just plays in ur face "D". Ginobili just puts his head down, carries the ball like a runninback, and looks for contact and then flops on the floor, while tossin up a prayer! I cant stand that Ginobili. But i can def see the comparison
While I think Ginobili and Nocioni are both very valuable to their teams, Ginobili is a much better player which makes him more valuable to the Spurs than Nocioni is to the Bulls. I don?t really see the similarities in their games other than both being from Argentina and their high intensity level. Ginobili is an all-star caliber player and is more explosive, a better slasher, shooter, and passer than Nocioni is. Nocioni reminds me more of a power forward than he does a small forward. Which is why he is a better rebounder than Ginobili.
My observations are pretty much the same as MrJ's, they play as high energy and are both good, versatile basketball players, able to play multiple positions, Ginobili is a lot different in terms of his skillset. But because they are both high energy, they both do kind of serve similar roles as sparkplugs.
I dont believe you can really compare the two, except that they both play with energy and reckless abandon at times...but Manu is light years above Nocioni...he's a better shooter, passer, and slasher...the only Nocioni might do as well, maybe better, than Manu is rebound and play defense...but I think if you ask any knowlegeable bball fan, they'll say there is no true comparison, and that they'd take Manu over Nocioni anyday...
