I've tried to load two photos I have from my computer. They show up on my profile page, but neither have shown up under my name on my individual posts. Does anyone have any advice?
You can upload both a photo for your profile page AND an avatar. Maybe you're using the wrong upload page?
Really? Hmmm.... a lot of people have animated gifs as avatars. If you go to our GFX forum, upload your avatar as an attachment (or give link to it), one of our artist types might be able to fix it up for you. It could be that it's way too big (width/height) and vB3 resized it and broke the animation. That's my guess. I see lots of animated gif avatars, so they do work.
some of my animated gifs wouldn't work, and so I was successful in uploading them on another site, like photobucket.
At first I found my avatars wouldn't load and then after I cropped them, they worked. There are parameters for avatars that I was unaware of but now it's no longer a problem. I don't think they can be too large to begin with.
Not that anybody asked, but I block avatars now. I have two young sons, and I'm tired of seeing them go wide-eyed when they peer over my shoulder to look at my PC. Wife keeps thinking they are busting me watching porn.
yeah, I've had avatars and sigs turned off since probably the second week I was here. I probably still have Webster up as mine.
