I'm watching the second episode right now. This is bullshit, right? I can't believe there are 24 photogenic 8-13 year old chefs like these kids in this country. They have to make these impressive perfectly plated meals. It's just too amazing to believe. It's fake, right?
I watched one episode and had a theory wondering what you thought since you are in the industry. My thought is those are all probably children whose parents are high up in the industry or kids being groomed to be actors. They probably get these kids as ready as possible by giving them classes and letting them know before hand a list of possible things they have to cook. Then they try to sell it as Jr chef from around the country competing in this cooking challenge . . . when really it is just airtime for future actors. Am I way off here . . .
You sound dead on correct. Child actors who are given a LOT of training and they know everything they're doing in advance. The thing is, some seem actually passionate about cooking which is cute. Maybe it's a little of both.
