for eddie george? hes basically taking the same offer the titans gave him but more incentive money, but the cowboys have a lesser chance to win. i think eddie should have stayed in Tenn. were he would have been the number 1 back, and still get 20 carries, now in dallas hell get less and share them with JJ.
With Eddie on board to tutor and help do the veteran things to win I think Cowboys are now hands down favorite to win the NFC East. Titans will be lucky to make playoffs.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Pats37)</div><div class='quotemain'>I bet he starts in Dallas and JJ backs up. Tuna loves his veterans.</div> Only, Tuna knows exactly what the workload is There was some article somewhere that said EG would take the load of JJ. Richie Anderson would be the 3rd down back because of his pass catching abilities.
I think Dallas makes the most sense because of their lack of depth at running back. It gives Parcell's an option and that makes every coaches job easier. As for the Titans, I don't think they will be hurt by losing George. I'm not sure they're ready to fall from grace just yet, and I'm sure they will still win 10-11 games.
Is Eddie a hall of famer? I think he's a much better candidate than, say, Terrell Davis. I'd say yes... Especially after he makes his comeback this year with Dallas and has a 1000 yard season.
EG is not a first ballot...but may make it in eventually. There were years where he was pretty tough. It all depends on the next few years...

The titans will still win 10-11 games without Kearse, so it is no big loss, but the Eagles get commended because of a big pickup. I think people fit better/worse with different teams, but I think free agent pickups are overrated. Each year, because of free agency, everyone thinks 25 teams will be better because of who they added, but it doesn't work out that way. In a case like Eddie George, though....I think Dallas will benefit more from his addition than the Titans will lose by losing him. However, Chris Brown is a relatively unproven commodity, so Smith better be ready to help out considerably. Dallas will not have a probowl caliber player playing at RB this season. But he will bring something to the table. The Titans, on the other hand, have to slip. They lose some RB help if nothing else, a supposedly-top DE, their receiving core is suspect. McNair is good when healthy, but their offense is suspect. Their defense will still make them a good team, but I do not consider them a top team. With McNair, they are always dangerous though. Is Dallas the right fit for Eddie? Who knows? We don't know what options he had? Do the Eagles even want him? They had the cap space, but it doesn't mean they have to spend it on someone they don't want.
Please pick on me, that's what I'm here for... But seriously, what did Eddie really do for Tennessee last year? He wasn't a big impact player. They'll be fine with Brown, proven or unproven. They will still have one of the top defenses and they have McNair. George had worked his way out of being a major cog in their offense. Last year he had just over 1000 yards rushing with a 3.3 ypc average and only 5 TD's... most average backs carrying the ball 313 times can do that.
Agreed Eddie did not do a whole lot for them. I think Brown could manage 3.3 YPC too. The Titans may only miss George when they HAVE to have 3.3 yards. However, I do think they slip some considering everyone they lost.
I htink the titans have a better back than george or brown on the team. They have jarett payton, he has the genes of a 16000 yd rusher and the greatest player in the history of the NFL.

I know i kinda wanted the bears to draft him even though the have the A-train(anthony thomas, not fumbly alstott from tampa). I htink he has all the tools to suceed in the NFL. I am soooo biased because of how big of a payton fan i am(note avatar) and also i am a U of M fan and he went to school there so, i am as biased as can be. The only person who exhibits more bias is dawk for any eagle player.
I personally don't think George is a H.O.F. candidate in the future, unless there is a sudden drying up of talent. I think there are better backs coming out right now that will eclipse George.
Payton better get a fair shot, and get carries. He wears his dads jeresy under his for every game i heard, thats cool.
