Two weeks ago, he had 3 catches for 27 yards and a TD. Not exactly stunning; but, he did score... and he did make some receptions. Last week, he had 5 for 66 and a TD. Is this Hester finally beginning to develop some WR skills (his TD receptions have been pretty impressive)?
He's sort of developing, and his receiving TDs always seem to be epic. I won't go out on a limb to say he'll be a receiving star or anything like that though.
Well, his catches on those TD plays... both were nice catches and good routes. It seems to me he is developing. Though, its probably a long shot he ever becomes anything more than a #2 WR (and that could be a stretch), he could become a nice slot WR.
I don't see him being anything more than a slot receiver with awesome deep threat ability. A poor man's Joey Galloway?
Route running is usually the most difficult adjustment for new receivers and I like the growth that I've seen from him so far. The Randle El comparison works.
Another week.... and more progression. Perhaps the injuries have been a blessing in disguise. Its given Hester more opportunities and more experience.
