Despite a barrage of injuries to the majority of the New York Giants starting offense, Eli Manning is finding a way to keep his sports betting promise, as one of the elite quarterbacks in the NFL this season. Since losing in week one to the Washington Redskins, Manning and the Giants have gone on a three game win streak, as the club has ridden their franchise quarterbacks back.

Through the first month of the 2011 season, Eli Manning has a QB rating of 105.6 has thrown eight touchdowns and only two interceptions, while passing for over 1,0006 yards. As fantasy owners of Manning, we can attest to the hesitation of taking his claims as an elite level quarterback seriously. Essentially, throughout his career, Manning has disappointed price per head sports fantasy owners, as he has been as much of a turnover machine, as scoring tactician.

This offseason when Eli Manning made the statement that he was an elite level quarterback, many people, we included questioned if the younger brother of future Hall of Famer Peyton Manning had taken a look at his own statistics. As we noted above, Eli Manning has been as much of a turnover machine is offensive catalyst. Looking at the bookie software, fans will see, that although he threw for over 4000 yards a year ago, Manning had only 31 touchdowns to go along with 25 interceptions. Fantasy owner or fan in general, those are not the type of numbers you want to see from your quarterback, especially an elite fishing games level quarterback.

However, having said all of our criticism earlier, it is important to understand that Manning is a good quarterback but not necessarily an elite level quarterback. According to colleague site ESPN, Manning is actually the eighth best quarterback in the NFL. His total QBR has risen the most from week one to week four. For those unfamiliar with QBR, it takes into account the time when a quarterback makes a big play in a game. If a quarterback makes big plays in the second half, their rating will be quite high. The QBR rating is determined on a scale from one to 100, the closer to 100 the safer the NFL pick you are.

In NFC East, Manning ranks second in QBR behind Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo. Yet, given that Manning scored a game winning touchdown on Sunday, and Romo threw for three interceptions, with two resulting in touchdowns, Manning should have the higher QBR score.

Eli Manning has a 68.9 QBR on the season, but with the previously mentioned come from behind win on Sunday, saw his weekly QBR move to 79. If Manning can continue his progression and reach the top three ratings for 2011 by playoff time, he should be called an elite level quarterback.
