We could have just one sports writer in the local/national media that has ever played a sport to show a modicum of knowledge rather than this complete sensationalism when covering Duck football? I know that's asking a lot from the John Canzano cookie cutter, need a rating National Enquirer school of journalism types, but true sports fans crave an ounce of have you ever put your hand in the dirt from our sports media outlets. I'm amazed that the media isn't calling out the obvious elephant in the room. The gigantic flaw in defensive technique which any person who's ever played football can see, but instead the media calls out the players for their lack of performance. A person with savvy journalism skills might hit on the real issue that Nick Aliotti has impunity, dare I say no accountability for his one dimensional style of defensive coaching that is the reason for the losses and all the "we don't understand football" articles being written right now! I would ask the media to address the problem for once which is very simple, if the media understands the nature of their sports jobs. If you put 3 6'7 300 pound men on a line, and have them take on 8 300 pound men trying to open gaps for a running back, at what point do you think the 3 lose the trench battle in a 60 minute game? Now throw in our LB's this year where the biggest concern of our defense was targeted due to lack game experience and you have what you've seen in Stanford and Arizona. An obvious flaw! A sports reporter might be thinking or even asking where is the adjustments being made to counter this fiasco? That takes us back to the original point of why isn't the media focusing all this outrage on the 1 man with 20 years + of defensive expertise, Nick Aliotti? Maybe it's time to put your pens to paper to the real issue, rather than the symptoms the real issue manifests!?
