.... for a Power Forward who can conrtibute offensively to make a run at the playoffs? I think Harpring will be traded sometime in the future, Utah will wait for him to reach his prime and then trade him. Right now, he's not worth as much because he's injured.
The advantages for trading him would be that AK47 can stay at SF, his true posistion, he'd also get a lot more minutes. He'd develop more, since he's only 22 [IMG] and he's already an all star. We'd get a good player in return for Harpring aswell, as he's good for 15 points a night.
The disadvantages is that he'll get better, and his scoring will be missed. He's a leader on the court, and this could be missed.
The kind of guy I'm thinking Utah will get in return is Juwan Howard (that trade would work to).

I dont think the Jazz should get rid of Harpring, if Harpring didn't get injuried, he could of been in the all star game instead of AK. Harp and AK plays nicely together, and it was Sloan's intention at the beginning of the season to have one of them, AK or Harp, anchor the second string and have Ruffin start with the other. Harpring plays great under the Sloan-system, could you say a Sloan-clone? And I dont think Sloan would trade the first captain of the post-Stockton/Malone era. Also, if the best we can get for is a guy like Juwan Howard, I would rather keep an injuried Harpring.

I am split on this issue. Where as I love Harp and wish he could stay with the Jazz, I feel Utah needs to upgrade and get a nice PF very quickly.
If we can keep Harp and get a good PF that would be a dream.

That dream might be possible, if we get a lottery pick. There's a lot of good PF's in the draft this season, I like Kris Humphries a lot for where Utah should end up in the draft.

I wish that Keon would get healed, I believe if he ever recovers, he could give us a solid 12-15 ppg with 7-10 rpg. If we can't get him, I would like to explore a trade with PHX to get McDyess, I know he's sorta injury prone, but if he ever got back to his old self, we would be getting a steal, and if not, he would be a solid back up. We could send: Keon, Handlogten and second round pick for McDyess and one of their picks? But I do not want to trade Harpring.

a trade with three injured players, eh?

No, Harpring shouldn't be traded(that is of course, unless it is a very very good trade). He is the heart and soul of the team.
