His numbers (quoted on TV) are great when he's starting. He's starting tonight, so it's an interesting question. What do you think?
Not lately. He's too inconsistent, and not much of a facilitator and struggles to get to the rim. Given how loaded the position is, I think the role he has is exactly what he is, a very solid 6th/7th man.
Napier is a borderline starter for a lower level team but a bonafide role player off the bench for a playoff team.
If Baldwin can contribute anywhere "close" to what he did last night we keep him and let Bazz go IMO, he has size and can drive the ball really well, also I hope Pat C is gone next yr as well
This may change, but right now I'm down on Pat and Layman. I'd love to keep Bazz, but as always, it depends on contract.
I’d match any offer. Not because I think he’s worth it, but because I’d rather not lose a decent player for nothing. We could always just trade him later. I doubt he’ll get anything prohibitive.
How'd that work out for Portland last time... We would've been better off just letting him (Crabbe) walk.
I agree. It’s not 2016 anymore so he is not getting anything stupid like $40M for 4 years, most likely he will be getting offers in the region of $5M and we could trade him later with that contract anyway. There will be plenty of point guards looking for new deals in the Summer - I think Collison has a player option that he will decline, VanVleet who has been a revelation this year will also be receiving deals. Elfrid Payton is a restricted free agent too. Napier has made a step up this season but is still a pretty average player. He’s a bench option for 16-20 minutes a night at this point.
