I think he's doing what he has to do... I mean, the Packers were $12 million over the cap. Letting Wahle go was the only thing they could do. The Lions and Cowboys wanted Rivera so badly (and overpaid for him) that the Packers couldn't stop it from happening. Jue was worthless and no big loss... Hawthorne was nothing special... He's in a tough situation because he doesn't know if Favre's coming back. He's going to have to cut Sharper in the next few days for more cap room... It's too early to judge Thompson's performance, but right now I think he's doing the only thing he can do. The latter part of free agency and the draft will be the true test of what kind of GM he is. I read an article the other day that was an interview with Ron Wolf. Wolf agreed 100% with every move Thompson's made so far. For whatever that's worth... *shrugs*
