I know its the regular season and everything is thrown out come playoff time, but the streak they are on right now is quite amazing, something i havent seen in a while. They are currently on a modest nine game winning streak, 13 in a row at home. Now thats not even the longest they have had this season, but what makes it amazing is that the average margin of victory is near 20 points per game. Tonight they beat the Bucks by 39. The Heat are playing the best ball in the NBA right now, and I cant wait till the 25th when Phoenix comes to town, so we can see how good the Heat really are. But if they keep playing the way they are now come playoff time, I cant see anyone beating them, east or west.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Kobe 8 Ball:</div><div class="quote_post">Why would it be one to remember? Maybe in Heat franchise history, but def. not in NBA history...</div> Exactly what im sayin
pb: Before I answer this question, I like to give you my take on the Heat since you mentioned you don't see anyone beating them. I got to watch the Heat played Thursday against the Wolves and Saturday against the Nets. I am impressed. Shaq is playing at a high level. Dwayne Wade has been a great sidekick to Shaq. The supporting cast has been very good. I think Stan Van Gundy has done a very good job getting the most out of his roster. The one thing I love about the Heat is that they got the chemistry and carmaderie. If you have those two factors, you got a chance to do good things. The Heat are playing for each other. Do I think they got a shot to win it all? Yes. Will they? That's a good question. I would love to see the Heat win it all because it would be awesome to see Shaq lead the Heat to the championship level not to mention this Heat team is so likeable from the coach to the players. Unfortunately, I just don't see them beating San Antonio. Spurs are way too good and experienced. I hope I am wrong. Don't discount Detroit out. They are very good themselves and they seem to do well under the radar. Detroit will probably feast on the no-respect angle again since everyone pick Miami or San Antonio to win it all. As for the current streak one to remember, honestly, who cares. I can care less about long winning streaks or etc. While it's great and all for team goals, what matters is winning the title. Good luck to the Heat. I am rooting for them to win it all considering my team is going nowhere this year.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Why would it be one to remember? Maybe in Heat franchise history, but def. not in NBA history...</div>My thoughts exactly. Maybe a run like 20 straight wins or something would be a mark in NBA history...
I'm a heat fan but i dont feel i should agree with you pb1300 They been playing great that's a fact but like others have said they will need to win 20 or so to be remembered. Or just win it all until the playoff time. I dont know how many games are left i hate calculating.
As already pointed out before, this streak isn't gonna matter come playoff time. Sure, it may be a record for the Heat franchise, but not an NBA record. The streak just shows that they are the team to beat right now, that's all. And their improvement since Shaq moved in. Nothing else.
I know there has been much more impressive streaks. When the Bulls won 72 games a few years ago, I think they would of <u>had</u> to have longer streaks than this.
Not really one to remember unless they don't lose a game for the rest of the year and have some super streak. The things I find interesting is that many people still don't feel the Heat are the best team in the East, and I've even heard people saying Boston has a good chance of taking them in 7, though Boston would have to beat Detroit to get to them. Now I'm not saying Boston can't beat them, but to say they have a "good chance" really isn't giving the Heat any respect. Anyways, nothing special right now, if they got up to 20+ or something, then it would be interesting.
Exactly what K8B said. 10 wins? Nope. Didn't Detroit win like 14 last year? I think so and even then it isn't a streak for anyone except people in Detroit to remember. Once they get 20 in a row, maybe I might reconsider.
