I know its a far-fetched possibility but I've been wondering if theres some way the Rockets can get J-Kidd...hey, if the Clips can get Kittles for a freakin 2nd rd pick, anything is possible...

    so I was thinking...

    Rockets trade:
F Jim Jackson (making like 3 million over the next 2 years)
F Maurice Taylor (I think hes making 6 mil this year with maybe 2-3 more years left, relatively cheap in todays era)
and maybe the Trade Exception ($6 million or so)

    for

    Jason Kidd
    ===================

Maybe this is impossible, it likely is, its only a thought...

I think Kidd makes the max if I'm correct, so this MIGHT work out, with or without a little tweaking...I would hate to get rid of JJ, but for J-Kidd, it would be worth it....lemme know what yall think...

I'm not too sure about this but... I believe the Nets would shut it down with just seeing those 2 on the trade offer. The Rockets right now do not have the players to get J Kidd if they plan on keeping Tmac/Ming

They need to get a quality point guard in return in order for them to give up Kidd. Do you seriously think Zoran Planinic can replace him? Oh, it's like their recent signing of Jacque Vaughn's going to drastically help. A point guard that should be considered in exchange for Kidd should be Carlos Arroyo or even Gilbert Arenas but of course they will need to add fillers in order for their side of the trade to worth Kidd. Get a crap point guard or no point guard in return and expect to see a rebuilding process for the next 5 years.

True, this would leave the Nets without a PG...but they also could just sign one, they'd have loads of money to spend, particularly with the trade exception...just sign some PG to a 1-yr deal, and spend one of the many draft picks they have on a PG next year...

Yeah, and Tracy McGrady & Yao Ming are now the untouchables for the Rockets.

If they want to land Jason Kidd, they would have to give up at least one All Star type player, but who could they offer? No one near Jason Kidd's value - therefore a deal is VERY unlikely.

    Very imposssible.

Jim Jackson had one of his best seasons last year, and he's a good player - but near Jason Kidd's value? No. Maurice Taylor is a sixth man at best, and they would have to give up a lot more than just Taylor and Jackson for Kidd.

Maybe if you threw in (give or take a few) Juwan Howard, Tyronn Lue, and/or Clarence Weatherspoon it would be possible.

But isn't that basically what the Nets are doing? Rebuilding? They trade Kittles for a second-rounder, is that taking a step forward?

Regarding Kidd, I think there is no possibility of him coming to the Rockets. However, we can always dream about what our team will look like if he does come. Yao at center, Howard and Nachbar at forward, T-Mac and Kidd at guards. That's a prime-time team right there, although I don't see a reason why the Nets would want Jim Jackson when Richard Jefferson is there. But we can still dream...*drools*

Well I dont think Howard can be traded till December or somethin due to him just being traded...

    But I want Kidd, lol...so...

    maybe...

    Taylor
    Lue
    Piatkowski
    and our Trade Exception

    for

    Kidd
    Lucious Harris

that seems fair...I think people are forgetting that the trade exception is quite significant, its worth $6 million...

i dont think the nets would trade kidd cuz of the pervious trade of Kmart...what about resigning wilks and playing him?he played pretty good for a player that is stone cold coming off the bench

Why would NJ do that? Not a single one of those players would even start for them.

That wouldnt be fair for the Nets giving a top PG for three mediocre players, any trade with the Rockets involving Kidd will most likely never happen.

But hey who knows the Nets have already traded two of their starters and an all star for draft picks, maybe the Rockets should offer some draft picks.

all in all i think the nets are probally looking for youth in return for Mr. kidd (btw has a lovely wife).

Draft picks would be nice and i also like mo talyor.

We'll just have to wait and see. I believe the gms and owners of the nets have at least aplan so we'll just have to see whats happens there.

Man I would be diying for a kidd trade to the clips to happen. I like maggette and his style of play and I think he deserves to play for a team that can contend for a title if kid goes there the clips automatically become that imo. Espcially if they dont have to give up brand to do it. He could teach livingston alot on the nba game and teach anyone on the clips how to become a great passer he did for arron williams and RJ he can do it for maggette and brand.

I can't see this trade happening. Unless Tracy McGrady or Yao Ming was involved in it, which I'm almost 100% sure won't happen. If he did go there though and Tracy McGrady and Yao Ming stayed, they would be the best team in the NBA next year.

If kid went to San Antonio, Los Angelos Lakers or Dallas Mavericks like it was quoted in another topic, then either one of those teams would be the top team in the league next year. The place I see Kidd most likely going next year is Dallas though because they have the quality of players to trade like Antoine Walker or Jerry Stackhouse. Even Michael Finley or Marquis Daniels or Josh Howard.

This Houston trade most likely won't happen though.

In response to the question posed in this thread: No.

You would think that JKidd is worth more than Mo taylor and jim jackson. Puh-lease. Even after trading away Kittles for a bag of skittles the Nets are not dumb enough to do that trade, and if they did then slap me silly and call me sally.

BTW JKidd has about 3-4 years left on his contract, Kerry had one year....there is a difference in the situations

well, with the personal houston has most likely than not if any trade were to occur, new jearsey would want one of there superstars included in the trade, i.e. tmac or yao, but it would probably be the dumbest trade houstan makes to give ether one away considering tmac and yao are both young and still maturing into there prime as apposed to kidd who is well lets say just coming out of his prime

no way theyre gonna let this be happening. they already have a superstar guard with tmac and yao, theyre not gonna need another oldie. i mean, nothing against kidd but hes old, isnt he? and jim jackson ... nah theyre not gonna trade him + ... for kidd

If you could get enough expiring contracts (and nothing but expiring deals) and tag a first-rounder or two onto the deal, I'm sure Rod Thorn would listen.

Ok right know I think as you all may know that Houston will only be a tad better than last season due to having a crappy bench and no point guard. I still only think the top powers in the west are SA, Minn, and yes the Kings. If the Rockets can swipe up Kidd I definitely think they'll win the west with the Spurs falling in the conference final.
