Wow, Latrell, that's a big downfall. I thought he would have money, but hey, if it pays the bills and feeds the family, all to him.
Just had to add this quote from the article: "Latrell is an All-Star caliber player and deserves to be one of the highest paid players in the NBA," said Gist. "If teams are unwilling to pay him as such, I am sure that Burger King won't object to him continuing his career as a member of their team." I hope this is a joke....I really do. I told others that he can't sign for anything close to what Minnesota offered him because he will be heckled and laughed at on a daily basis. He'd be the long-standing punchline for the rest of his career. And I mean career. The only way to avoid it is to disappear.
<div class="quote_poster">Swish Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">This is from 2005 and it's a joke. A very funny one, by the way. </div> Yes, indeed. Anything that seems ridiculous (such as this article), is most likely satirical fiction.
The shame is- is Latrell is an All-star caliber player. Ignore for a second that he's an arrogant ass-hole. He could be playing a Jason Terry type role on a multitude of Championship team. Think about how good the Lakers would be with him, The Heat, the Cavs, even Dallas could use him because he'd add some fire. Really, with all the MILLIONS of people in the world who's dream it is to play in the NBA, to have a guy who has the talent to play well into his 30's give it all up because of his pride is sad.
