Moments later, Mardy Collins committed a hard foul on J.R. Smith during a fast-break op That is now confirmed. In fact ESPN had the video showing Thomas mouthing to Melo: "Dont go into the paint; If I was you, don't go into the paint." Stern knows that Thomas is ultimately responsible for this incident, but there is no precedent for suspending a coach for how he coaches his team. It's part of the refusal of Stern and his cronies to deal with the reality of flagrant-2 fouls. Until someone gets seriously hurt, and, come to think of it, I guess I should be happy that J.R. is not in the hospital, the League will continue to dance around the flagrant foul problem and the potential of someone getting seriously hurt. As soon as a player in this league ends up with a season or career ending injury from a flagrant foul, I will now be able to say "told you so".
My respect for George Karl just skyrocketed, told it like it is, didnt hold back with his comments. Invalid Video Link
Isiah Thomas is lucky he didn't get suspended. Whatever though, he'll be at home sitting on his ass this summer when James Dolan FINALLY comes to his senses and fires him.
