Francis is a long shot, but Thomas is monitoring the situation and is open to all possibilities. The Knicks are even willing to trade Stephon Marbury in a bombshell deal if they could find someone open to taking on the $57 million he has remaining on his contract. Thomas is liable to check with every other team to find a deal.</div> NJ.com I doubt anyone would take Marbury with his contract. Whoever we get, I want draft picks or a young player. Doesn't appear to be very likely at this stage though.
The chances of Marbury being traded are highly doubtful. In some ways I feel Isiah's career as GM in NY is linked to Marbury. For his own job security I don't see Isiah trading him unless a lopsided deal favoring the Knicks presents itself.
