The New York Islanders have signed an affiliation agreement with the Kalamazoo Wings of the ECHL. Kalamazoo will join the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, of the American Hockey League as the primary affiliates of the Islanders. “Having a strong ECHL affiliate is crucial to our organization’s future,” Islanders General Manager, Garth Snow said. “The Kalamazoo Wings have a rich history, and I’m confident that they’ll provide the necessary resources to properly develop our prospects and provide a stepping stone to the AHL and NHL.” http://islanders.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=534908&navid=DL|NYI|home
