New York Islanders forward John Tavares is a first-time NHL All-Star, and he can thank the Carolina Hurricanes for being a big part of his success. In the first game following the All-Star break, Tavares had two goals and two assists in New York's 5-2 victory over the Hurricanes on Tuesday night. Tavares has nine of his 53 points this season against Carolina.
