"DeSean Jackson paused by the goal line, his heel touching the line as he lingered for effect.

    A second passed, maybe two.

Finally he turned and fell in backward to finish off a 91-yard touchdown reception, thus beginning what looked to be a quick and easy march from close game to 30-27 Philadelphia Eagles victory on Sunday Night Football.

Quick and easy never materialized for Philly.

A Cowboys loss eventually did, presumably Eagles payback for double spankings a year ago. A thank you seems more appropriate considering those losses got Coach Wade a contract extension in Dallas and Philly QB Donovan McNabb bounced.

Remind me again, who won that deal?

In less than a year, Philadelphia has been reborn into an NFC beast under QB Michael Vick while Dallas has been relegated to playing for interim coach Jason Garrett's job.

That is all that remains of a 2010 that began with Super Bowl talk: Does The Redheaded Genius get to stay? Or does he get bounced like Coach Wade?

Many will use what happened Sunday as proof Owner Jones needs to proceed with caution on JG and keep lines of beggary open with Bill Cowher and Tony Dungy. (Because both seem likely candidates to take a spin through the wackiness of JerryWorld.) More will say this is a huge setback for what until Sunday had been a promising start to The RHG era, a failure of defense and finishing and ultimately what he has tried to build. And a few will go so far as to declare him as big fail. Trial over, move on."
