"People say his numbers are great in the Garden," coach Lawrence Frank said after Kidd had another special night in the Nets' 101-100 win: 23 points, nine assists and seven rebounds.

"I would challenge you with, his numbers are great in every arena. He's been pretty damn good everywhere else, too. It's not like he just plays well at Madison Square Garden."

But Kidd admitted the Garden does pump him up.

"You're talking about the arena, the greatest stage on earth," Kidd said. "No matter how long you've been in the league, you always enjoy coming to play in the Garden."

Teammates insist he does it everywhere.

"I've seen him do things on another level," said Richard Jefferson. "I've seen him average a triple-double in the Boston playoff series in the Eastern Conference Finals. I've seen him do all kinds of crazy things."</div>
