Spurs have won 12 in a row. The really cool thing though is that their average victory margin is 16 POINTS over that 12-game streak.................... wait I don't think you heard me. <font color=""Red"">16 POINTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!</font> Dallas, Phoenix, Detroit, you have been warned. Tim Duncan is probably the most competitive, serious, focused player in the entire league and he has set the tone for the team as they have regained their sense of purpose.
What I'm still trying to figure out is why somebody with Dirk, Amare, Jermaine O'Neal, in there sigs is praising the Spurs.

The Spurs are my pick to win it all this year. Everybody seems to have forgotten about them, but they also forget that Duncan was playing hurt last year, which I think is the only reason they didn't win it all.
Yeah it must be great to watch a boring basketball team with a flopper on one wing and a dirty piece of **** on the other. Gee, I wish I was a bandwagon Spurs fan.

I think the Spurs well do very well in the playoffs. The will be in the western conference finals with the Mavs, but for that series, I have no clue who will win.

Anyway, Spurs are playing good basketball lately and have needed to. They are rounding into playoff form. Although A series against the Mavs will be a good one. I don't see S.A coming out of that series. Not enough depth and not having an answer to the Mavs young guys on the perimeter.

But we know Bruce can check Dirk one on one and make him have one of those 5-18 nights That will sap the collective confidence a bit. Plus not double teaming Dirk means Manu can chase Josh Howard and Tony can rattle JT, take them out of their rhythm. THen it is up to Oberto and Elson to get down and dirty inside and deny Howard and Harris penetration (no small feat). Parker also should dictate tempo and slow the game down, that will play into SA's favor. I will now pray to the NBA gods for this matchup....

You must be 11 or something because you obviously don't appreciate the defensive aspect of the game. Bruce Bowen is exciting to watch especially when he defends a super star like Dirk or Kobe. How is Tony Parker or Manu boring.. you kid need to start watching more games and its not all about how many points a team scores or how they play. You sound like another bandwagon NBA fan trying to act like you know something about the game of basketball.....
Just for the record, Manu does make a point of showing the refs when there is contact. If you want to call that flopping, fine. Personally, I think the act of trying to draw a foul instead of trying to make a bucket is just as annoying but no-one seems to mind that. But to label Manua flopper completely takes away from the fact that he is the only player with an international ring and an NBA ring, that he SHOULD have won the Finals MVP over Duncan the way he led the team with his clutch play. It's like saying Shaq sucks cause of his FT shooting. Secondly, Bowen gets under guys' skin. If he was really so dirty, more than 2 or 3 players over the years would have called him so. The guy is an ELITE defender bottom line. If you're going to defend that closely, dudes are going to land on your foot every once in a while. These guys play hard, compete hard and defend hard. The end result is that opposing players get frustrated and resort to pointing out gamesmanship. The fact is that these guys are so good and so professional that they frustate other teams to the point where they cry. "he's a flopper! he's dirty waah! waah!"
Bowen is a good perimeter defender, but there's no denying he plays dirty. I don't even understand why he is, either. Its not like he needs to take cheapshots in order to keep up with his man, but for some reason he continues to do it. Other than him though, I don't see why the Spurs roster gets so much hate. They play efficient, team-oriented basketball and focus on defense. I personally find that to be refreshing. Watching hard-nosed D and Duncan operate in the post is way more interesting than watching no-defense scorefests. Even though they're getting older, they're still a force to be reckoned with.
To be fair, I don't like the Spurs, and I bear no ill will towards god. I do dislike them, because I believe that Bruce Bowen is a dirty defender, Tony Parker is an overrated guard who thrives in a Tim Duncan led system, and Manu Ginobili is an erratic player who's been rewarded for taking crazy, out of control shots more than I would like. Also, I don't like the Spurs because I hear they're personally responsible for most of the poverty throughout South America's third world nations, but, uhm, that guy might have been lying.

Not trying to be mean because I have no problem with gay people but I do have a problem when they try to change our culture.</div> I think I'm probably smarter . Let me elaborate on what I said, because I was obviously a little blunt in trying to make my point. Do I think they're a great team? Yes, they're a dynasty and tied with the Lakers for the best team in the past decade. I also like and have a lot of respect for Tim Duncan. However, it's the rest of the team and the way they act on the court that really pisses me off and makes me (and I'm probably not in the minority) hate this team. They harass and badger officials throughout the game to the point where they have them in their back pockets, and the league does nothing because of the Spurs' reputation. Bowen is a dirty player. Period. I find hard to believe that anyone can deny this. It's just puzzling to try and understand why he is the only player who consistently injures players by undercutting them. Also, he is the only defensive player who is allowed to get away with clutching and grabbing and harassing perimeter players. And what really gets me is when he's called for an obvious foul, he puts his hands up with that dumb look on his face and acts all innocent. What really gets me is Pop probably has Manu practice his flopping and Bowen practice his cheapshots during practice. I could go on with reasons I hate this team, but I don't want to write an essay. Bottom line is I would much rather watch teams like Dallas and Phoenix who are able to dominate without dirty play and taking advantage of shoddy officials and league rules. Dallas plays better D than the Spurs (I believe, I don't know the exact numbers), and they're a way better team to watch than the Spurs. There are the great teams like Jordan's Bulls, Bird's Celts, Magic and Shaq's Lakers, and Olajuwon's Rockets. Then there are the Spurs who remind me of the Pistons of the late 80s and early 90s who were characterized by guys like Laimbeer (Bowen?) and had to resort to dirty play to get by Jordan and the Bulls during their early matchups. Let me say again that I like Duncan and I think he's the ultimate pro and class act, its just a shame that some of the guys he has around him aren't.
<div class="quote_poster">XSV Wrote</div><div class="quote_post"> I think I'm probably smarter . </div> Ok, it seems you have hard time understanding what I say.. let me make this more clear. this is what I said. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">You sound like another bandwagon NBA fan trying to act like you know something about the game of basketball.....</div> So I don't really know what gay people have to do with the subject of basketball. Seems your a little confused...neways.. You think the spurs have the refs in their pockets? That right there proves my point in your lack of knowledge towards the subject which makes my point. Enough said.

Well I don't want to get into another Wade debate, but I guess I feel happy being a fan of him rather than being a fan of Bowen's "heir apparent" like you.
