They don't have the speed to do so. Ian Johnson is a good RB and Zabransky is a good leader, but the rest of BSU just doesn't match up at all. The OU defense will be able to shut down Johnson and put the game in Zabransky's hands. Zabransky hasn't had that great of a year. He hasn't lost games for BSU, obviously since they're undefeated, but he hasn't be in a position where he's had to win a game for BSU very often either.

I agree that most People will complain regardless of what happens on 1/8. Like most of you, I'm rooting for the Gators. Boise St can compete w/ the big boys. I'm most looking forward to the Orange Bowl w/ this years Cinderella story... Wake Forest.
When OSU rolls Florida, I hope all of these schmucks that rigged the voting this year are watching and feel what the kids at U of M feel like right now... They know damn well that Michigan is easily the #2 team in the nation and nobody can honestly say that they think Florida would beat Michigan if they watched both teams play... Oh and about this strength of schedule crap... Can anyone name me 1 non SEC team in the top 20 that an SEC team has beaten? No you can't... So my question is how do you know that the SEC is this great confrence? I see that a team that played for the SEC Championship got their asses handed to them at home by USC thats it... There is no Texas' or Notre Dame's on any of their schedules... So basically, the SEC's teams were ranked so high by beating up on 1 AA teams and themselves... Great there is no measuring stick for them either... Seriously, I hope OSU blows Florida out of the stadium that night (Florida used to be my 2nd favorite team until U. Meyer opened his mouth... by the way I wonder if he wants there to be a playoff implimented immediately anymore? )... I hope Michigan beats USC like they should... I hope Wisconsin rolls Arkansas like I bet they will, let PSU beat Tennessee and I hope that Quinn leads ND past LSU... Then what will the pollsters say about the schedule? What will these lobbiests say then? Ooops... We were wrong... Sorry.... There's always next year.... PUT THE KIDS ON THE FIELD AND LET THEM PLAY ALREADY...

It's the deepest but if Wisconsin beats Arkansas and Michigan beats USC and OSU rolls on Florida then I the Big Ten is easily better up top.</div> Here in lies the problem with most college football fans...they're territorial. They feel that the best is always in their own territory. Living in Texas, I promise you I can find some morons that think the Big 12 is the best conference in football. I can find more morons that think Texas still deserves a shot at the national championship. College football is badly territorial. I don't think I fall into that category. I live in Texas, but I cheer for Colorado, Michigan and whoever else has players that I really like at the time. I greatly dislike most Texas teams, especially UT, except for Texas Tech, TCU and Baylor. From top to bottom, the SEC is the best conference. I'm not saying that Florida deserves the shot because of strength of schedule. They had the toughest SOS, but Michigan's was 3rd. Florida didn't beat many teams convincingly, but Michigan had some shortcomings as well against Ball St. and Vanderbilt. The question shouldn't be who would beat who in a game either. It should be more along the lines who put up the better performance over the length of the season. In that case, there can be arguments made for both teams and personally, even if there was a matchup between Florida and Michigan, I don't know who would win because the two teams matchup well with each other. The need for a playoff system becomes blatant now, but I didn't like his reasoning behind all of he said. His post came out as an outrage over his team not being chosen and was very homeristic in nature. I think he could post a better argument for Michigan if he wasn't so angry that they were left out of the championship game. Is Michigan the only other team that deserves a shot at Ohio St. and the national championship? Definitely not! Florida, Michigan, Louisville, Wisconsin, LSU, USC and Oklahoma (who should have only one loss, but thanks to the worst call in the history of football don't) all have arguments of a playoff system now. Urban Meyer is not the type to go back against what he's said before. I'm sure he still wants a playoff system. I don't know why you're so mad at him. Is he supposed to say that his team doesn't deserve the shot at the national title? Of course not. Of course he wants to nominate his team for the chance to play in the big game. He'd be stupid to not say he wanted it. Lloyd Carr was saying similar things about Michigan deserving the shot, but I don't see you upset about that. I think the reason you aren't upset is pretty self-explanatory too. Again, you aren't wrong that Michigan deserves a shot, but your logic about it is skewed. The SEC from top to bottom is a better conference. The Big 10 has Michigan, Wisconsin, and Ohio St. that are very good teams. Who else though? Penn St. was very disappointing this season. Iowa was too. Northwestern? Indiana? Illinois? MSU? You get past those 3 and you can't be impressed with that conference. The SEC brought Florida, Arkansas, who has the best RB in the country right now, LSU, who might be the hottest team in the SEC at this point. Auburn has been overrated to me, but is still a top 25 team. Tennessee. Georgia came on strong at the end of the season with their offense finally figuring things out. It's just a tougher conference. Personally, I think the national championship was the best scenario because it matches up the top two teams from the top two conferences. I would've personally liked to have seen Michigan in the game instead, but the open sports side of me says that Florida should get the opportunity. Will Ohio St. beat them? Yeah, I think so...but remember a few years ago there was an Ohio St. team that won the national championship despite not being very stylish in doing so. Florida has the ability to pull off the same feat.

I'd like to think that most fans of the MWC are sane enough to realize that the MWC is not the best... though there are some BYU fans... The recent rule rather than the exception is; Michigan, Wisconsin, and Ohio St the best 3 teams in the Big 10. You never who will be 3 best in the SEC with the exception of Kentucky & Vanderbilt. This years 3 were different than last years 3. It won't surprise if there are a different 3 next year.

I really don't care much for Ohio State but they are good and Wisconsin went 11-1 this year. In the USA Today Bowl all 3 are in the top 5. I honestly think Florida is going to get blown out by Ohio State. I think Michigan will handle USC and I think Wisconsin will handle Arkansas. That would put the Big Ten up 2-0 in the 2 Big SEC vs. Big Ten games. If Michigan were to play LSU I think the case can be made Michigan would win. Again speculation but saying the top 3 in the SEC is better than the top 3 in the Big Ten is nothing more than speculation as well. Just like when everyone says the SEC is the best conference in the Nation it?s speculation. They think they are just like they thought they were last year. Georgia lost to West Virginia in the Sugar Bowl. Auburn lost to Wisconsin in the Capital One Bowl. I agree with all this. I'd like to add I did read Meyer said the system is still very flawed even after Florida was selected to go to the Title so I think he'd be in favor of the playoff. Meyer did what he had to do. He lobbied for his team to play in the Title and it worked. Lloyd Carr should've done the same thing but he didn't. Like I said above if the top of the Big Ten wins their Bowls then how can anyone say that the SEC's elite is better than the Big Ten's elite? If it's the other way around then I don't think anyone can say the Big Ten's elite is better than the SEC's elite. I think Ohio State, Michigan, and Wisconsin are better than Florida, LSU, and Arkansas. After that though then the SEC shows how deep they are with Tennessee and Auburn whom are a top 25 teams. So it depends on how you define "best" I certainly think the SEC is deeper but if Ohio State, Michigan, and Wisconsin win their Bowls then I don't know how anyone could make a case against the Big Ten for not being better at the top.
GA Tech is ranked 25th and Clemson is unranked , Cal just now slipped back up into the top 20 at 19... I say again there is no measuring stick for the SEC and to bring up ACC teams to prove your point isn't helping, that confrence was horrible this year... I dare Wake Forest to run that offense against a good SEC or Big 10 team... Michigan went outside its conference and scheduled ND... OSU sheduled Texas... No team in the SEC played a team with there talent except Arkansas and they got it handed to them... The Tennessee win over Cal is the closest thing the SEC has to a good win this year... I say again that there has been no measuring stick for the SEC this year except USC and we all know what happened... The rest of the Big 10 did exactly what the SEC did... nothing yet they are looked down upon as inferior teams cause they aren't as flashy or as fast as the SEC... Its a double standard... Michigan didn't slip this year except for against OSU... They beat Vandy by 14 and Florida beat Vandy by only 5 (our lone common opponent), so there goes that game, Michigan was handling Ball State easily until that brought in their 2nd and 3rd stringers... Chances are no one outside of Michigan is even aware of that... Lets look at each teams losses... Florida loses by 10 at Auburn... Michigan loses by 3 at OSU... Enough said... Meyer did not just say that he was in favor of a playoff... He said that Michigan had already gotten their chance... Which is complete BCS... I mean B.S.... Sorry... We aren't talking about who should get the chance to play OSU, We are talking about who deserves to play for a NC... There is a HUGE difference... He also said that if Michigan were to play for the NC against OSU that the Presidents of all the colleges should get together and immediately put together a playoff.... Completely classless and I am proud that Lloyd and the athletic department were above going out and lobbying... I am ticked off... Wouldn't you be? Lobbying made us split the NC with Nebraska when they didn't deserve it (Tom Osborne's last year)... Lobbying made a team that had 2 losses and a tie over a 3 yr span during the 70s never get invited to a bowl game... Time and time again Michigan has gotten the short end of the stick on these things and they have always taken the high road... I am simply saying what they want to... Does Florida deserve a chance to play for the NC? I believe they do... Do they deserve it over Michigan? No... Are they a better team than Michigan? Not a chance... and those are the real questions that should have been asked for who deserves to go... The BCS system has screwed yet another team, but if they were to pick Michigan there would have been 2 teams that got screwed... OSU (For having to play Michigan twice) and Florida (For not getting their chance to play), the BCS committee took the easy road and it would take some concrete evidence to convince me otherwise...
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Murtyle)</div><div class='quotemain'>Michigan was handling Ball State easily until that brought in their 2nd and 3rd stringers... Michigan only beat Ball St by 8. I guess there is a great talent drop off in Ann Arbor between 1st team & scout team.

Considering Arkansas is on a 2 game losing streak and Wisconsin is on a roll. The Badgers also can stop the run and run the ball. 2 things that will give Arkansas trouble. I don't think Arkansas can beat them through the air at all. I also think Wisconsin is better coached. USC vs. Michigan is the best chance for one of the elite Big Ten teams to lose. Will be a good game. I really think it could go either way. Tennessee should beat Penn State. If they don't though then SEC fans have some explaning to do. Though I wouldn't be worried. Penn State has struggled a lot this year. Ohio State is either going to win by 10+ or Florida in a close one in my opinion.
Well once again the only BSU fan around here i have to say.. Michigan fans can quit freaking crying atleast u get to play in a BCS bowl year in year out.. I am happy to even get to play in a BCS bowl game..
