Watching the game today there was your usual IN-HOUSE report & the subject was Teixeira. "He's currently just taking it slow, he wants to be sure he's game ready & and we shouldn't expect to see him for ANOTHER week or so". Wants to be sure? The hell with that, C'mon Hal open up the check book one more time & sign Morales. It's bad enough that currently we have NO ONE to back up Tex. But he goes down we're screwed. Yes I realize that IF Tex is healthy Morales will end up being the highest paid bench player in baseball but.......Like I said, I just have a bad feeling. And that in-house report didn't help my thinking.
Tex should've had the surgery right after the injury happening. The waiting and then trying to play before being shut down again in hindsight was a silly. I understand not wanting to lose the season but it's always the same story with other guys as well. The inevitable surgery and people left asking why it didn't happen months ago. I hope he's fine for the season but at some point here you have to let it go 100%.
