<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">In May 2002, Allen Iverson gave an interview in which he uttered, disdainfully, 11 times in one minute: "We're talking about practice."

Well, he sure seems to like talking about practice now.

Iverson, once a loose-cannon guard, suddenly is as responsible as Miss Manners. He's a co-captain for the U.S. Olympic basketball team and looks to be practicing as hard as anybody at training camp at the University of North Florida.

Perhaps that's because his coach is Larry Brown. Yes, the same Larry Brown with whom Iverson feuded in Philadelphia from 1997 to 2003, resulting in Brown fleeing to the Detroit Pistons last summer.

A year removed from seeing each other every day, the relationship between the two hasn't been better. A major reason is Iverson admits he didn't know how good he had it until Brown, not getting much love in the City of Brotherly Love, bolted and won an NBA title with the Pistons.

"You don't realize how good somebody is until you lose him," the 76ers guard said Tuesday after a morning practice. "I learned the hard way. I think (Brown leaving) helped coach Brown and myself as friends. We went through so much in our lives together for six years, good times and bad times.

"It's unfortunate (Brown left). I wish it never happened. If I could do it all over again, I would do it a lot differently. I think I would have paid a lot more attention. I would take the criticism he gave me not as bad as I did. That's part of being young and growing up. I learned the hard way."

Iverson, the oldest player on Team USA at 29, certainly did. Last season, the 76ers slumped to 33-49 after compiling five consecutive winning seasons under Brown and reaching the NBA Finals in 2001. Meanwhile, the Pistons crushed the Los Angeles Lakers in the Finals last month, giving Brown his first NBA title.</div>

This is pointless, there have been enough of these relationship threads all over this forum. They say the same thing over and over again, that there are no hard feelings, that they wish it was like it was before, blah, blah, blah.
