<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Like a person waiting in line at the grocery store, Allen Iverson already has his check filled out and signed. All that's missing is the total. The Nuggets point guard was contacted Wednesday by NBA officials, and he expects to be fined for comments he made Tuesday about veteran referee Steve Javie. "Yeah, I expect it, and rightfully so," Iverson said after practice Thursday. "It's a fine that I deserve. I was frustrated at the time, and I let my emotions get the best of me." Iverson was ejected by Javie after receiving his second technical foul with 1:44 remaining in the Nuggets' 108-97 loss Tuesday to the Philadelphia 76ers. The game was Iverson's first against the 76ers since being traded from Philadelphia to Denver on Dec. 19. During a postgame news conference, Iverson told reporters he and Javie have an acrimonious history and insinuated Javie was acting on a personal vendetta. "I said I thought he was calling the game personally," Iverson said shortly after the game. "I feel like it's been personal between me and him ever since I've gotten into the league (in 1996). This was a perfect game for him to try to make me look bad." Iverson said Thursday he regretted his remarks and praised Javie for his work during 21 NBA seasons. "He's a great referee, and, obviously, he's one of the top referees because he's been around for a long time, and he's earned the respect that he's gotten over the years," Iverson said. "It was just bad judgment on my part, and I just wish it never happened. "It's not something that I'm proud of as far as kids seeing and kids having to hear it - especially my kids. It's just something that I regret because it got negative feedback. "I'm disappointed in myself, and, hopefully, after I get the fine, the whole thing will be over." No fine was expected Thursday, but the NBA still was investigating. </div> Source
The fine is $25,000 for Iverson jawing about referee Jarvie. A.I. needs some wins to get him out of this "it's still like I'm playing for the Sixers" rut he is in. A.I., Camby, and company can score 100 easily against the Lakers tonight so I am hoping and expecting that this game will be sort of close instead of a boring Laker rout.
who would have thought that AI and Kobe would only score 24pts combined? Hopefully Denver can regain some confidence with a win tonight over Utah at the Pepsi Center.
BTW, does somebody have any idea from where it does come from that Iverson thinks Steve Javie doesn't like him or has a vendetta against him? Anything that was between the two which happened in the past? Or is just Iverson's impression that Javie does not give him enough calls or is out to get him?!

I saw that coming after hearing the comments. You just can't say that anymore. Iverson was upset, but he had to realize the officials were giving him some calls throughout the game as well.
<div class="quote_poster">AIFan Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">You'd have to ask AI</div> Yeah sure, I was just wondering if somebody knew if something was ever made public which (allegedly) happened between these two because Javie was fined by the NBA at least two or three times for inappropriate comments or threatening coaches and players before, like the incidents with Divac, Adelman or Riley.
