<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">[IMGl]http://www.nba.com/media/sixers/Iverson_200_050105.jpg[/IMGl] Philadelphia 76ers guard Allen Iverson earned an All-NBA First Team selection when the NBA announced the 2004-05 All-NBA teams today. This is Iverson's third selection to the All-NBA First Team (1999, 2001, 2005) and sixth overall All-NBA selection (All-NBA Second Team: 2000, 2002, 2003).

Playing in his ninth NBA season, Iverson ranked in the top five in scoring (first, 30.7 ppg), steals (second, 2.40 spg), assists (fifth, 7.9 apg) and minutes per game (second, 42.3). Iverson joined Wilt Chamberlain (7 times), Michael Jordan (10 times) and George Gervin (4 times) as the only players in NBA history to capture four or more scoring titles. Additionally, he became the fourth player in NBA history to average 30 or more points per game and seven or more assists per game in a single-season, joining Oscar Robertson (6 times), Jerry West (once), Nate Archibald (once) and Michael Jordan (once).

Iverson joins Dolph Schayes (6 times), Julius Erving (5 times), Charles Barkley (4 times), Wilt Chamberlain (3 times) and Billy Cunningham (3 times) as the only players in Sixers franchise history to receive All-NBA First Team honors three or more times.

Joining Iverson on the All-NBA First Team are forwards Tim Duncan (San Antonio Spurs) and Dirk Nowitzki (Dallas Mavericks), Shaquille O'Neal (Miami Heat) at center, and Steve Nash (Phoenix Suns) at the other guard position.</div>

What a releif this is. I really thought the likes of Wade, LBJ etc. would steal his spot. But AI without a doubt deserves this spot, hands down.

This was a no brainer to all those 76er fans out there, but I wasn't sure the voters would vote him in or not. Good job to AI though he really deserved it I thought the media would be swereved on the young phenoms though, gald they made the right choice in AI [IMG]. What really surprised me is Dirk getting picked over Kevin Garnett, I'm not sold on that.
