Hey I read somewhere that Iverson had like a 4 minute mile somewhere..... around 4 minutes... anyone know the time of his record mile?
Smokers lungs eh... not a great thing to have lol. That's wicked number by Rip Hamilton. I'm sure he trains everyday for his cardio, I mean that's basically his whole game, running and midrange shot. Impressive.
No, thats good, my best is only just udner 6 minutes, and I've never smoked, plus used to run long-distance at athletics events.
just got onto JV ball and I'm going to stop smoking and try to hit something UNDER 5 I know it's a lofty goal but if AI can get someone near 4 minutes I can get somewhere near 5 minutes
mines' 5:10 in the summertime and just 4:50ish in the wintertime. I couldnt' even imagine doin what Rip does!!!!
A four minute mile is a sprint and it's unlikely that any NBA player has trained to that point. But I wouldn' t be completely surprised if he can hit the 4:30 mark given his build. More likely he trains with a professional who has him run intervals at sprint pace, but probably not for more that 200 yards (220 and 440 meter splits). A 4:50 mile is most likely a very strong effort for him. But I honestly do not know how fast he is over a mile distance. Just what I believe from 30 years of running.

I don't think you can run a 4 minute mile without specifically training for it, no matter how good of an athlete you are. Its really a different kind of conditioning compared to that required in a basketball game.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting TheTruth5:</div><div class="quote_post">^^daamn thats impressive</div> yeah i know. he practically wins meets for us single handedly. he does long distance, which he wins. he does sprints, which he wins, and he does relays, which he wins single handedly as well. IMO, he's going to be in the olympics.

I believe there has only been one high schooler who has run faster than 4 minutes.
