<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">ESPN - Team sources informed ESPN that Josh Howard and the Mavericks have come to an agreement on a four-year, $40 million contract extension.

The two sides were facing an October 31st deadline, which would have allowed him to become a restricted free agent next summer.

Howard has been disappointed with the Mavericks' reluctance to complete a deal, but he hasn't allowed the contract status to become a distraction. He has been the team's best player during training camp.</div>

That's a pretty good deal for Howard. Do you guys feel like the Magic would have paid him more?

Yeah I think the Magic would have paid more. I was thinking the Magic would pay 12 a year

We should trade Grant Hill's expiring contract this year for Kevin Garnett.

Seriously though, his expiring contract is basically our cap space, and we could use it to pull off something.

I heard a rumor that the Magic were gonna go after KG and trade Hill's expiring contract. I dunno what it was but it was something like Darko and Hill for KG.

    Any thoughts?

that would be pretty damn sick... T-wolves wont trade KG unless he demands to be traded though... He's the face of their franchise and after all of the talk, i dont see him being moved unless he wants to be moved... has he made any statements lately about being traded?

Should be an interesting season for KG. I don't see the TWolves making it out West, so what's going to give first, KG's patience or KG's stubborness?

KG said he doesn't want to be viewed as a quitter by demanding a trade. I'm not sure who would consider him a quitter, it's not his fault McHale blew several opportunities to build around him. If anything most people would probably say "About damn time KG!"

With Josh Howard and Boris Diaw off the market, maybe the Magic can set their sites on Gerald Wallace? OR Create cap room for Ron Artest in 2008?

That's interesting Shape. Gerald Wallace is good but if we had a chance for going after Artest, I would choose the latter. Ron Artest isn't a ball hog(not to say G-Force is), he can rebound, play D, but here is where Artest is different from G-Force, he be an inside and/or outside threat.

No way, get Gerald Wallace if it's not too expensive. Screw Artest.

I wouldn't want Artest corupting our young guys. But I would take Gerrald Wallace in a second Rashard Lewis would be a nice option also. I hope we don't trade Grant Hill he has already said he would play for the minimum when his contract is up, it would be stupid to just give up on him now.

You guys act as if Artest is a disease. Lol, "Corrupt our young guys".

He's changed big time since his stint in Indiana.

I just don't want him to waste our money.

Do you read anything? He said just in the past few days "I'd love to get in a fight with Raja Bell." He's a bad team player and would be a waste of money and time. He's also an idiot. No thank you.

G-Force is pulling in 5 million, while Artest is raking in 7 million. (of course estimated) for 2 more million I would rather have Artest, especially considering he brings more to the table than Gerald.

Does that matter? As long as he is productive and getting us wins I could careless if he says he had sex with my mom. [IMG]

If he can build chemistry with the Magic if he was signed it would be amazing. The Magic would be so dominant.

You guys need to stop acting like the Magics mother. Who cares about their personality? Carlos Arroyo is a complete jerk but he has skills to back it up. "Corrupt our young guys", lol......These are grown men bro......If they get "corrupted" by him at their age it doesn't speak much for them in the first place.

Okay well putting his (Artest's) personality aside I would still much rather have Wallace his defense is just as good, he is younger and he plays within his role. Also if we did sign artest it would have to be for more than 7 million the whole reason he wanted out of Indiana was because he wanted to be more of a scorer and "Increase his value".

    That's a great thing. [IMG]

Rashard Lewis is another good suggestion. He can play on the perimeter and play either forward position effectively.

First off, who wouldn't want to get into a fight with Raja Bell? I'm sure Kobe sure will.

Anyways, Artest is the complete package. A good shooter with defense and a playmaker.
Gerald Wallace still needs to develop an outside shot and obviously he's a great athlete and defender avg. more than 2blks and 2stls last season.
Rashard Lewis is a good choice but if he's asking more than 10million than I don't know if the Magic should go after him.
