"Even after surgery to repair two muscle tears in his lower abdomen, J.J. Redick anticipates he'll able to start his regular offseason workout regimen at about the same he usually does, if not sooner. William Meyers, a Philadelphia-based surgeon, repaired the tears on May 26. "The muscles were not healing," Redick told the Sentinel. "I was just so anxious and upset with how the season ended that I tried to work out after the season and I realized the injury was not better. I took a couple of weeks off and tried to let my body heal. After that, I decided it was time to see Dr. Meyers." Redick reported that he's felt a "marked improvement" in his lower abdomen over the last several days. To prevent scar tissue from forming, Redick is rehabbing by doing a variety of stretches and water exercises atAmway Center. Redick initially sustained the injury on March 11 and missed the Magic's final 17 regular-season games. He appeared in all six of Orlando's playoff games against the Atlanta Hawks. "From what I've been told, there's a very high success rate on this time of surgery, especially with Dr. Meyers," Redick said. "I don't expect to have any relapses. Obviously, I play a very intense sport, so things can happen."" Read more: http://www.orlandosentinel.com/spor...-redick-surgery-0609-20110608,0,6233753.story
