No that they win, just because their's other guys who had much larger imporvements, and many of the analysts etc who have picked have not mentioned J-Rich and/or Murphy.

Yeah, I think Marty Burns has the best explanation of why. A lot of players don't get to play, then get minutes and show that they can produce. In Murphy's case, he was injured and he took it slowly. J-Rich improved, but his team didn't improve enough behind him until the Baron Davis trade.
If Jrich hit 90% on free throws, he'd get that award. I mean his fg% was hot (45%) but it might have taken a dive after his last 5 games. I think most improved should go to a guy like .... actually nevermind... I think it's going to Bobby Simmons. Of course it's a no brainer since he got more minutes this year than last. But I remember he wasn't a very good shot, yet he's got a good fg% this year I thought. Also Kirk Hinrinch, I think he's gotten his game to the point where you forget that he started out as an undersized two guard. I guess the benefits of being quick, tall, being able to shoot, play defense on fast players and tall players, and having great basketball IQ + the court vision gets you. I think he's improved his game to the point where he makes other players better. I also thought Manu Ginobili improved. He's been a lot more consistent and isn't as streaky, plus he's the man on defense. Comeback player of the year could probably be Jalen Rose, Damon Stoudamire, or Brevin Knight.

It'd be nice to have Simmons next year....

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Banks:</div><div class="quote_post">That belongs to Hill.</div> Yup. Knight would be MIP if anything.
Damon Stoudamire had a nice run, but is looking bad right now. Jalen Rose I think already won MIP. I guess you're right Grant Hilll did play more games than expected and maybe that's what the award is about anyway. Coming back after injury rather than combing back after being benched.
Jalen Rose has been playing like an All-Star since the Carter trade, but the team hasn't been going places. Besides, he didn't do too bad last season. I haven't checked the Warrior stats this season, so I was surprised to see J-Rich averaging 22 points; is that a four ppg improvement?
