Jabari said that Neil will likely turn to one of these bigs to replace LMA if he bolts.

Conjecture, yes, at least he's not claiming this to be an actual rumor.

I'm convinced Monroe will be a top target - Neil nearly landed him last summer but pulled out at the last second as the Pistons got greedy and were asking for a lot. Last year at this time David Falk wanted Monroe in Portland.

DeAndre is a pipedream. Even if you could super-max him the Clippers would likely match.

    You're right.

Just as unlikely - You'd have to convince him that playing with Lillard and Batum is better than CP3 and Griffin.

If Aldridge left, I wish we could get both Monroe and Jordan.

    I checked the connection...

DeAndre Jordan has been on Olshey's team for the majority of his NBA career, 4 of 7 seasons.

As Director of Player Personnel, Olshey drafted DeAndre Jordan in the 2nd round. 3 months later at the start of Jordan's rookie year, Olshey became Assistant GM. 2 years later he became GM. 2 years later he became Blazer GM.

Deandre is more like Robin than Lamarcus and I am personally very happy with Robin even though he had a disappointing series.
Monroe is a nice player but there are other players I like better replacing LA including a cheaper FA called Thomas Robinson.
I prefer bringing someone who is a better fit for our team than just going for the biggest name, if a guy like Drummond was available I would go all out but it has to be someone special to convince me he's worth such price.

Thomas Robinson to replace Aldridge? How much have you been drinking tonight?

He would give us a different look that could be positive, a stronger inside presence. He would also come cheaper than other options and already knows the program. There are other PFs I like but I think we can do worse than a TRob-Meyers rotation.

The Robinson-Barton connection is like the Rudy-Sergio one. If the Clippers get into a bidding war with us for Robinson, Olshey must be sure to get Denver into a 3-way so we either get Robinson with Barton, or else no trade. He must stick to his guns on this.

Bringing Barton back is less important if we have Wes, CJ, Crabbe. He could be valuable until Wes comes back but I think these 3 plus Batum are good enough for the swingmen positions.

But I thought at 7:26 PM we were 100% certain LA was returning?

It's up to him, right? No need to show him the door but there are other options.

Btw, I don't think either one of these options are good replacements.

I don't see any chance DeAndre comes here. Monroe might be a possibility.

We need to plan like he's leaving, then if he wants to stay we can decide to keep him.

Planning like he's leaving will make him leave. If he leaves we'll likely be in a rebuild. He doesn't want another rebuild. Thus we shouldnt plan for a rebuild and just hope he stays, cuz he won't.
