Blue Jackets general manager Scott Howson told The Dispatch that interviews for the club's vacant coaching position will begin this weekend. As of yesterday, he added at least another name to his docket.

Kevin Dineen, a former Blue Jackets player and development coach, was given clearance by the Buffalo Sabres to interview for the Blue Jackets' job, according to NHL sources. He has spent the past four seasons coaching Portland, Maine, of the American Hockey League, Buffalo's top minor-league affiliate.

Neither Howson nor Dineen would comment on the report.

On Monday, Howson was granted permission by the Vancouver Canucks to interview minor-league coach Scott Arniel, who has spent the past four seasons coaching Manitoba of the AHL.
