    <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>'Ludicrous' Idea?

Asked if Andrew Bynum's growth could render it "ludicrous" that the Lakers entertained the idea of trading him for Jason Kidd last season, Phil Jackson said:

"Jason Kidd is a guy who is an MVP player; he's a competitor to the gills. So with anybody who is a competitor to that level, there's nothing that's ludicrous about it." -- Orange County Register</div>

IMO smart comments by Jackson. Obviously it would have been terrible if the Lakers had done it, because they would have had to include Bynum + Vrad + either Kwame or Odom to make it work. So your looking at your big men being

    Mihm, Turiaf, + Odom
or Mihm, Turiaf, + Kwame. And Kwame has been out, so the Lakers would be pretty miserable at the PF/C positions.

Having Mihm as the starting center shooting 36% is clearly a big disadvantage to Bynum at starting center (with depth behind him) shooting 63%.

I think the comments were smart by Jackson for two reasons.
    1) Kobe said he thought they should of traded Kidd for Bynum. So you support Kobe's comments.
    2) You support Jason Kidd, and he will keep the Lakers on his list of teams he would want to go to.
