Who else thinks Jacque Vaughn has been tearing it up as of late? Well as much as a career role player can tear it up at least. In the past 5 games, he's been averaging 13.0 ppg, 3.4 apg, 3.2 rpg, 1.2 spg on 55.6FG% and 93.3FT% in 34mpg. Although kidd and carter deserve most of the credit, vaughn has been keeping defenses honest by making crucial shots in many of the past nets' wins.
Another thing that you did not mention was his phenominal defense. He kept Rip for 3-10 shooting I think that the Detroit game. All I can say is that JV, has really provided the replacment for Buford that the Nets pretty much could not survive without. With Mercer and Planinic back I think that the Nets can not afford to allow Kidd and Carter to get longer breathers and not to mention provide further insurence against another injury.
yep I just finished watching the last game against the pistons, and I definitely think he is playing great as a SG when kidd is the PG. especially when vince is on the floor, vaughn is getting open shots everywhere, that he makes! Instead of having to handle the ball with the second unit, all he has to do is run around defenses (that are mainly concentrating on carter and kidd) to get a open shot.
At first, I was kind of dissappointed when Coach frank chose to make the change giving Vaughn much of T. Best's minutes on the West Coast trip a couple weeks ago. But IU think Vuaghn has filled in extremely well. And then when RB went down to injury, he stepped right into the starting lineup. So all credit goes to Vuaghn for his productivity, he isnt the scorer Best is but a much better defender at this point in their careers. And actucally has been surprisingly effiecent shooting the basketball from the perimeter. On a side note, I have liked what I have seen from Billy Thomas as well. I dont see right now, how Mercer or Planinic can crack the rotation in front of him for any legit minutes at the two guard. Billy T can shoot the rock and he has the hustle and energy of a guy just looking to stay in this league.

He's an average shooter, but a above average defender because of his hustle. He knows his role, and is playing well, good for him, good pickup and scouting by the nets.
