"Tyson Alualu, the Jaguars' first-round draft pick, isn't making any promises about being in training camp on the first day. "That's something I just have to leave to my agent and trust him. It's just out of my hands," Alualu said. The agent, Ken Zuckerman, works for Alualu, but the defensive lineman said, "It's going to be up to him. That is what I hired him for, so he's going to do his job." The negotiations with Zuckerman could be critical because the Jaguars know that getting a top-10 draft pick (Alualu went No. 10 overall) into camp on time is not always easy. The previous two seasons, the Jaguars had the eighth pick in the draft. Defensive end Derrick Harvey held out for 33 days in 2008, and offensive tackle Eugene Monroe held out for 12 days last year. Now the question is whether the Jaguars can get Alualu signed by July 29, when the players are scheduled to report. The Jaguars haven't signed any of their six draft picks, but Alualu figures to be the only one who will get a complicated deal. The other five will likely get minimum salaries with a signing bonus. It is hard to get a read on the first-round market this year because none of the first round picks has signed, and Zuckerman said the Jaguars aren't ready to make a deal. "They like to see where the market is before doing anything," Zuckerman said. He said he hasn't started the negotiations yet with Paul Vance, who negotiates the contracts for the Jaguars." http://jacksonville.com/sports/football/jaguars/2010-07-06/story/tyson-alualu-knows-game-business
