"There was barely a reaction from the emptying EverBank Field when Titans safety Vincent Fuller intercepted Trent Edwards in the end zone. Only six minutes remained in the game, the Jaguars hopelessly trailed and a drive filled with running plays left little time to change that.

The Jaguars said all week they wanted the exposure of a Monday night game to show a national audience who they really were.

"A big stage, we wanted to come out and try to gain some respect," Jaguars receiver Mike Thomas said. "A lot of times the Jaguars aren't even on the map. We don't get no respect. We stunk it up tonight as a team."

The flaws they showed Monday in a 30-3 loss to Tennessee were common themes throughout the season. Turnovers, the kind that doomed the Jaguars in a 25-point loss to the San Diego Chargers returned. A struggling pass defense, which entered the game 29th in the NFL, meant that even though Titans running back Chris Johnson couldn't get going, Tennessee's offense thrived. To make matters worse, Jaguars quarterback David Garrard left the game with a concussion in the second quarter.

"This is who we are," Jaguars safety Gerald Alexander said. "We're a 3-3 team and that's exactly what we earned."

The Jaguars trailed 17-0 at halftime, the second consecutive Monday night game in which they were shut out in the first half. They were blanked in the first half of a loss to Houston in 2008.

The Jaguars overcame a three-turnover performance against the winless Bills the previous week, but couldn't survive four Monday night against the Titans. That and penalties at crucial times hurt the Jaguars.

"We weren't able to overcome the avalanche," Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio said.

Both starting quarterbacks were knocked out of the game in the first half. Titans quarterback Vince Young sprained his left knee with eight minutes remaining in the first quarter. His injury came after he led Tennessee on a touchdown drive to open the game.

Young, who had a career passer rating of 58.7 against the Jaguars entering the game, completed three of four passes for 61 yards on the drive. It ended with a 23-yard touchdown pass to receiver Kenny Britt.

Last week Britt told reporters in Tennessee that the Jaguars' pass defense, ranked 29th in the NFL, made everybody "smile," especially, he said, those in the wide receivers room."
