Nick is a polarizing figure in MMA. I think his antics are hilarious and entertaining but some of the more serious guys--apparently Jake Ellenberger, Matt Hughes, and obviously Georges St-Pierre--aren't amused. Jake: "I don't like him... he has no punching power." Ma2s: "He's a punk." GSP: "De mos disrespekful person eye ave ever met." Nice to see the WW division getting shaken up a little. Otherwise GSP would just be rematching everyone at this point.
I also think the Diaz's are extremely entertaining and make the sport more fun to watch. Even if you hate the guy isn't there some joy in those people you "love to hate"? I hate Sonnen for his BS but in the bottom of my heart do I really want him gone? I don't know because I'd be less interested. And with both the Diaz's and Sonnen they can at least back up their talk/antics. If these guys don't like it they should try to shut Nick up themselves. The "no punching power" argument against Diaz is fucking ridiculous as well. How can you support GSP but not Nick if thats a knock against Diaz? Nick comes to fight and finish fights. Doesn't have the one punch KO power (again, neither does GSP) but can you really deny that his standup is excellent?
Get in the fuckin' cage with him and see his punching power than, Jake. I guarantee Jake goes for a double leg right away. He doesn't have the balls to stand with Diaz. Ask Penn and Daley about Nick's punching power. If Nick could survive Jake's initial surge, he'd decision him, TKO him late, or sub him.
