<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Among the latest rumors to come out of Toronto is a Jalen Rose-for- Eddie Jones trade, with the idea that Rose might be a better fit at small forward, the position Jones is playing now that Damon Jones is in the starting lineup.</div> Source: BenMaller.com
Before I opened this thread, I knew it had to be something to do with Eddie Jones. I personally don't like Eddie that much, and I think he's washed up. However, at times it's better having a washed up Eddie than an Inconsistant Jalen who doesn't play D and jacks up shots right after when his defender kills him. This could be a good deal for both sides, but I don't think Miami is foolish enough to exchange Eddies Jones contract for Roses. Plus, I don't really like this, because sadly Rose is our best post player, and Eddie Jones gives us <u>another</u> perimeter player/shooter. For Miami, the key is getting Wade at the 2 where he'll blossom as a player.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting og15:</div><div class="quote_post">Rose = No defense, and loves to shoot, not a good fit in Miami.</div> True but he shoot alot in Miami with Shaq inside getting doubled and triple teamed. The problem with Rose is if he lands in Miami, is that if his defender just beats him on defense and scores, he'll get the ball and just jack it up early in the clock out of frustration. I don't think he'll be a good fit there, but for Miami, he's a better option right now than E.J. Plus this allows Wade to move to the 2 more importantly. I'm not saying that JR is gonna be better there, but it's just a better situation for Miami. Gives us Dorell Wright and then I might like the deal

i'd do rose for jones and their first rounder next year. Rose just doesnt fit with our team and our system. But he could be great in Miami with the open looks he'd get. Jones would give us a decent defender, and maybe it would spark him to play the way he's capable of playing. And besides, at least he's cheaper per year. I dont know.....i do think Rose is a considerably better player...i'm just really frustrated with the team and the individual players. (bosh, carter, rose) Another thing, insidehoops and hoopshype are both mentioning Nazr potentially getting added to the pot for carter to NYK. But my question is, although we could use Nazr, who else would we get to match salaries?? Babcock SHOULD want no part of penny, TT or Houston, and I doubt Isiah would trade both K. Thomas and Nazr since that would be his big men right there. So how the hell do they expect this trade to fly???

Either way it's not gonna effect his performance but it will make the Heat better and get us more transition points.

Wade is the playmaker, but Damon Jones brings the ball up the floor, DJ isn't a guy that can create shots too well, or drive and dish, but he can bring the ball up the floor and protect it.
Damon Jones can drive to the basket he just doesn't do it often. And he can create shots too nothing spectacular like putting it between your legs / crossing over and spinning the ball like the players you enjoy watching but he can get his own shot off the dribble.
I dont like this trade much, Eddie is 2 years older if I'm not mistaken and we have better offers according to the rumors. I'd rather take the New Orleans deal than this one because we get a dominant inside force and get rid of Vince and Jalen at the same time. The only way, I wouldnt object to this deal is if we got Keyon Dooling and a draft pick along with EJ, or something along those lines.
i believe jalen could halp the heat out a bit. and this also could possibly be a turning point in his career. playing along shaq should get jalen some easier shots that he had in toronto.
