<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Nelson hurts rib cage in win By KEN HORNACK Staff Writer Last update: March 29, 2005 ORLANDO -- Even a victory over the downtrodden Atlanta Hawks can't be considered a laugher in the eyes of the Orlando Magic. Not because their 109-102 win Monday night wasn't easy, but because it would have hurt to laugh, particularly in the case of Jameer Nelson. Nelson went to the locker room with a strained left rib cage during the first quarter and never returned. The anxiety over possibly losing him, pending the outcome of the X-rays today, took much of the luster off the Magic's first win at the TD Waterhouse Centre since Chris Jent became their head coach March 17. The Magic, who are now 33-37 with 12 games left, began the night three games behind the Indiana Pacers and the Philadelphia 76ers for the last two playoff berths in the Eastern Conference. They won for only the second time in their last 12 games behind Steve Francis' 30 points and 10 assists, as well as double-doubles in points and rebounds from Grant Hill and Dwight Howard. But Nelson's injury could make it a costly victory.</div> http://www.news-journalonline.com/NewsJour...NBA01032905.htm This blows. Now our bench is even more dominating with Mike Jones backing up PG/SG, Stacy Augmon at SF, and Battie, Kasun, Hunter, Garrity at the PF/C positions. Get back soon Jameer, we definetely need you for the stretch run.
Yeah. This is a painful addition to the list of injuries. It was bad enough to lose just DC, but then Hedo and finally Jameer, all players who would be/are important to the team. At least its only 4 to 7 days, I think that jameer is a trooper and really will try to get back quick. Did notice one thing though, that really impressed me, and showed how good he has been of late - out of his past 17 games he averaged something like 16pts 6 assists and a few rebs. Those will be missed on top of the 15pts hedo gives us.
