I am a huge Jameer Nelson fan and I love watching him play. He has the ability to drive to the hoop and find open players. He was one of the best college players last year and showed he can do a lot of things.

So far this season, Jameer is averaging 5.1 PPG, 1.5 RPG, 2.3 APG, and his field goal percentage is .427.

I just have one question for you guys. Do you think Jameer Nelson can be a good point guard in the NBA? Many people say he to small and other negative things about him but I think he has potential to make an impact in the NBA.

They also said Spud Webb, Mugsy Bogues and Earl Boykins were too small. Jameer is bigger than any of them (he's ripped ya'll, and several inches taller than any of the previously mentioned). He's showing potential for an undersized rookie. Keep in mind that he too isn't used to the schedule in the pros (just like Dwight whom most analysts say has hit the proverbial rookie brick wall). What I've seen of him is consistent growth and increased court vision. I hope that he keeps growing like he is.

Definitely a good PG however, I think there is one exception. I think Jameer Nelson needs to get out of Orlando, and go to another team. Look at like this Steve Francis is a real young guy I think he is like 27 or something. There is no way that Jameer Nelson will ever prosper into his fullest potential with Francis around.

We already know that Nelson is a mature baller. I mean look at this guy. He is one of very few college players that actually stayed all 4 years in college. But, because of his height, he was neglected in the draft. This guy is so talented, he is finding a way to actually score 5 points and 2 assists behind a PG considered elite. Who averages around close to 40 a game. I see Jameer Nelson's time in Orlando almost as a waste because they are taking away the time to develop.

It reminds me of Frank Williams and the Knicks. When he got sufficient time, Frank produced. He even was great for us in the clutch being so young. He was looking really good and a potentially nice role player for the Knicks. Despite some of his rookie mistakes, he always seemed to be a great ooption to fill in our PG drought since Mark Jackson. Once Marbury came, he just killed this guys development as Williams suffocated on the bench collecting dust.

This is something I do not like to see. Nelson is a future NBA star and once he joins a team where he can get a bigger role, Orldano will be sorry. I see this being something similar to what Portland did to Jermaine O'neal before Indiana spotted a star. Some team is going to see that diamond in the dirt, and once it gets polished, will shine and bling radiantly.

Jameer Nelson is that diamond burried in Orlando. I'm telling you, it's just a matter of time untill he blossoms. He will become a great PG in this league, as well as a good player in the league. That's my word. In about 4 years from now, everybody up in JBB will be posting how nice he is. All of the doubters will see that he is a star.

No doubt Jameer can become a starting point guard on a roster at some point in his NBA career. It's unfortunate that he plays in Orlando, and more importantly behind Steve Francis, because his claim to fame is his ability to score at his postion. Orlando may be looking for a more pass oriented guard to give reserve minutes to so they can balance out their attack. However, look for Jameer to shine when he's given the minutes he deserves...

I agree with what you and mrj18 are saying. I feel that Jameer would be a better fit for another team unless the Magic trade Steve Francis. If Jameer were on another team he could be playing great this year but since he is on the Magic he has to backup one of the best PG's in the NBA. If we were to trade Francis in a couple of years for a star at another postition I think that would be a great move. We have great youth here in Orlando and now we just have to use it right and be a dominant team in the future.
