"Jameer Nelson uttered a three-letter response when asked if he'll play tonight against the New York Knicks.

    "G.T.D."

    That's short for "gametime decision."

Nelson, who has missed the Orlando Magic's last five games because of groing and hamstring strains, practiced Monday and participated in the team's shootaround today.

"For the most part, everything was positive yesterday," Magic coach Jacque Vaughn said. "We'll see gametime. It'll be my decision whether he goes or not. But everything was positive from yesterday."

Vaughn prefers to be cautious when players are recovering from injuries, and he might elect to be extra careful with Nelson.

Still, the Magic have felt Nelson's absence in recent games. They've missed his outside shooting and his experience, especially down the stretches of games.

The Magic have averaged just over 72 points in their last three games."
