Dudley is one kid who has been flying under the radar here at Boston College. I just read a quote from him recently where he stated that if he played at Duke or UNC he would be much more known, which I think is true to an extent. Without Craig Smith at Boston College he has stepped up and played better than anyone thought he could. He's versatile on offense as he can face up and hit mid rangers, post up smaller defenders, and drive (this will all change on the NBA level though). He has great vision and is a good passer. But his biggest thing is his passion. He plays with 10 times more passion than the next guy on the floor. He overachieves, maximizes his talent, and has a great knowledge of the game. He finds a way to beat the better athletes, just a passionate player all around. Emotional and intense competitor. I don't know how you can not like this kid. He hustles, does all the little things. Its all that which leads me to thinking he will become a decent NBA role player at worst. Despite not having a position, I think he will find his niche somewhere in the NBA as a role player. He reminds me a lot of Ryan Gomes when he was coming into the league (a few different skills, I.e. rebounding), as with no real position, gets by on work ethic, hustle, and will power. I love watching him play and really hope that he succeeds on the NBA level.
I agree, a lot of the stuff Jared's doing now won't work in the NBA...he won't be able to overpower or create his own shot. Those are problems but to make it in the NBA all you need to do is work hard and play like hell and he can do that. Probably a 2nd round/undrafted guy that could make an impact.
Jared Dudley won't be a first round pick, I think he'll be a mid 2nd round pick that doesn't play much at first, but ends up winning some minutes as time goes on. I see him as a solid 10th man at best, nothing real special in the NBA. Williams is the real NBA prospect. But, no doubt I love watching Dudley at Boston College!
yup the guy's a tankI think sean williams will be more successful in the NBA though because he's more of a specialist while Dudley has a pretty good all-around college game
