Feel sorry for Jarrett, good guy, but I'd rather prefer the guys who replaced him in the rotation.

I always loved Jarret and I wish him the best. He was this team's emotional leader next to Roy being it's calming, thinking star leader.

I really loved Jack as a person, but yeah, i didn't think his game neccesarily fit w/ our team, and def. not now that we got Rudy and soon to be Jerryd playing in his place. And Sergio gets more of a shot now, and he is doin' great! I love watching Sergio play. Just gotta keep workin' on his J.

He could have been a good fit. But he opted to sulk and then asked for a trade. I wish him well.

Wow. What a great attitude and kind thoughts. Just more proof that the "culture" here is very special the players that develop in it are special too. It take the the right kind of team player to fit here.

If BP says that Jarrett asked for a trade, then Jarrett asked for a trade.

    Trust me on this. ;)

Jarrett is learning that the grass isn't greener. He spent his last two years here asking the GM to send him East. I loved Jarrett Jack here. I thought he could become another Terry Porter for us.

I don't mind having a player on another team being wistful about being a Blazer. He'll spread the word and more free agents will tell their representatives to get in contact with Kevin Pritchard.

Are you sure? I thought he did in a meek way? Sort of a play me or trade me thing.

I always liked his effort, but hated the fact he found way to lose games. I watched him play a few times at Indy this year, he, is as he always is. Works hard, but finds a way to make mistakes.

I miss Jarrett. Still wish he was here over some other guys. He never deserved the bullshit treatment he got on these boards. If anyone boos him I will strangle their asses at the game, my wife will too..so watch out! ;)

Jarret was a good player on a young, up and coming team. Don't you think he would be better this year with Rudy, Oden a more seasoned Roy and Lamarcus? That said, I am glad we have Bayless.

“They’re doing a great job putting themselves into a good position early in the season. It’s all about being consistent. If they can keep doing that through April, they have a shot at contending.” - JJ

I just wish he could have been consistent.

    Some thoughts:

    1. I wasn't around for most of the Jack bashing. He was an OK rotation player on a bad team... not quick enough or a good enough shooter to really make a difference on a consistent basis. Not sure why he was so disliked around here, though.

    2. This is good evidence that players don't get upset when they get traded from a good situation. Or at least not always. If we have to trade Blake or Joel or whomever to upgrade the team, I don't think we need to worry about poisoning the well for future transactions or shattering the culture we've built.

    3. I am delighted we have Bayless at the end of our bench, rather than Jack. Of course, the closer exchange is Diogu for Jack, since we would otherwise have taken Rush (or whomever) with our lottery pick. In any case, there wouldn't have been room for JJ to play this year, so we might as well have a younger player with more upside on the roster.

Yeah no booing of Jarret at the RG this year; the guy wasn't all that great, but he sure gave it everything he had. I'll always respect his contribution to the team ... even if it was sometimes maddening.

He was - he consistently led the league in turnovers off the bench.

In all seriousness, I like Jarrett Jack as a person. He was ALWAYS a good post game interview - intelligent and candid. None of the "both teams played hard" mindless, canned BS.

I've spent half my life in Indiana and half in Portland. I have very fond memories of growing up in Indiana, but would never move back there. No offense to anyone from my original home state, but I vastly prefer the scenic beauty and more socially progressive attitude here in Oregon. I don't blame Jarrett one bit for missing Portland. I would, too.
