I'm still not sold on him starting the rest of the season last year or this year, but he showed good confidence and poise in the second half last night. He still needs to work on his accuracy like crazy, but thankfully Donovan McNabb made him look like Peyton Manning the entire game. I don't deny the ability that Jason has the legs and the arm strength that we all love, but if he's not on target with his passes then the offense will be out of the field before you know it. He missed numerous opportunities on third downs to keep drives going and with the Eagles defense keeping on our rushing game to a minimum, we needed Campbell to come through. He had a great second half though and that's going to raise our season to the next step seeing whether we are able to compete for the playoffs.

I was very impressed with Jason Campbell. It was his first meaningful division road game. Philadelphia players were talking about it being a must win for them. He came in ran the offense good. Sure he still made some bad reads and throws, but with the type of pressure that Philadelphia was throwing at him and with 2 normal starting OL out of the game I thought he performed admirably. I just wish he would have hit Santana for the ice on that long throw. While he struggled a little on 3rd downs, he still completed a pretty good portion of them and did keep quite a few drives going with his strong arm and ability to scramble. The best part about him is the poise he showed. He didn't get rattled even when Philly took the lead and the crowd was getting in it or when Philly was driving at the end of the game. I think tonight certainly showed that he is the future and he should be the starter.
To get accurate he's really going to have to get control of his release. It's just plain funky when things break down. But what I'm impressed with is that by and large he's keeping his wits about him. I think if they show patience and keep working with him, he'll probably be a-ok
He's big, mobile, and is capable of makinggreat throws. He also has trouble with his throwing motion and accuracy. That's to be said for most rookies, but the thing that makes me a fan of him is his resilience in tough situations. For the most part, he's performed admirably in pressure situations, the mark of a good QB.
I'm willing to let him do whatever he needs to do this year, if this is as bad as he gets, fine, he hasn't had any 3-18, 3 INT type of games, just some down moments, which I can live with from a rookie.
All in all, his negatives can be worked on and his positives are hard to find, so I'm in his corner.
