<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Having kept his point guard out of the Nets' first two preseason games, Byron Scott said yesterday he will continue to rest Jason Kidd for the next three.</div>

It looks like after two staright seasons of finals losses where Kidd hasn't played particularily well in the finals Scott is trying to preserve him for the end of the year. I think this is a good move after the nagging injuries of last year and the Olympic Qualifying team this summer.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Backup point guard Zoran Planinic, the rookie who has started both preseason games, will start again tonight against the 76ers at the Meadowlands.

Scott is hoping that a fresher Kidd will help boost the team's shooting in the playoffs. The Nets shot a dismal 37% in the NBA Finals and didn't upgraded their shooting in the offseason. While they could still sign a free-agent ? a move Scott says is unlikely ? Kidd, Kerry Kittles, Rodney Rogers and Lucious Harris will have to be the ones to provide better outside shooting.

"We don't have to have Steve Kerr on our team to win a championship," said Kittles, who shot 30% from behind the three-point arc in the Finals. "We have to have guys who can make timely shots."</div>

I like that Idea but then I dont, It upsets me not to see Kidd play, I mean I whine at the smallest injury he gets.

maybe he still needs time for his injury to fully heal...and they're 2-0 in the preseason...no need to press the panic button and tap Kidd to play...[IMG]...they're just preserving him for games that will matter...

I see no need to play stars such as Duncan,Mcgrady,Kidd,KG,Shaq,AI in pre-season games..more so for the guys who played for the US this summer...they need to get ready for the season and not over do it..Although if those players have new coaches it is a good idea playing because they need to learn new plays e.t.c..works both ways I guess.

There is no point to start your STARS becuase you know that they will start in the regular season. PreSeason is for those players who dont get a lot of playing time and rookies to prove them selfs that they can help out the team to win!!!
