Well the link is not avaliable because you have to register, but to me it seems like this years off season will by far be the biggest in years. It is starting to look like the nfl off season. There are rumors of so many big names being traded. Ray allen, VC, Shaq, j-kidd, k-mart, tmac, francis, mobley, AI,c-webb, and so many more. Not to mention the free agents. Kobe, Sheed, fisher, and so many more.

I dont think j-kidd would leave the nets basically because an owner ship group should also care about income at the stadium from fans and stuff. If j-kidd leaves the nets become the worst team in the NBA like they were before j-kidd's arrival. Also they dont make the playoffs which means less money from the stadium gross of fan base attending the game.

K-mart I can easily see leaving the nets team, but j-kidd I dont see. He signed a recent extension last off season with the team actually it was a new contract. He was the reason they fired byron scott the guy that coached them to two straight finals. To trade him would be to basically distroy your team without being forced to by the cap or NBA.

    Cut and Pasted:

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Philly.com:</div><div class="quote_post">The Sixers are not about to trade Allen Iverson, but there's no telling what they're doing right now. Miami's looking for size, not a new president, contrary to what reports about Pat Riley may indicate. The New Jersey Nets, small players in this draft, have made it known they may let Kenyon Martin walk away, and are shopping Jason Kidd specifically because new ownership has this ridiculous mandate of getting its franchise under the cap in one season.</div>

^Rob Thorn has clearly stated that he doesnt know where all these rumors about the Nets just trading away their star parts (like K-mart & Kidd) just to cut cap is coming from. He said yes the Nets are trying to cut costs but not at the expense of their future. They are trying to trade Kittles as a method of cutting costs, Rogers & his big contract is on the trade block as well. And they are trying to get rid of Zo contract. Also there is rumors that Lu Harris will have the remainder of his contract bought out.

And the Nets have pretty much already sold their 1st round draft pick to the blazers for cash & Eddie Gill(who will be released because he has a non guarantee contract.)

even the idea of trading/shopping kidd is idiotic. he just resigned with us and will most likely retire as a net unless new ownership's goal is to get the #1 pick in every years nba draft from now untill 2020. if they is thier goal, then let kmart walk, trade kidd and dont resign rj. that is great business. i dont think there is any truth behind these rumors. after next year, we will have kittles/debo/lu/deke/zo's contracts all off our books (possibly more if i forgot). we will have money and space in the upcoming years, so it isnt like we are screwed for years to come. it is just that kittles is overpaid,we needed to get zo to keep kidd and deke didnt work out. we made a few bad moves and we are paying for it up to this day. kidd wont be leaving nj. im sure people ask just to see what they could get for him and nets are curious what ppl would give for kidd, but i honestly dont believe kidd will be leaving...ever!

Unless the Nets can trade Kerry Kittles' $10 million contract and unload other big-money players like Rodney Rogers and Lucious Harris (who may be bought out), the Nets may look into parting ways with Kidd, sources said.

Kidd, who won't be happy if the Nets lose Martin, is considered to be untouchable along with Richard Jefferson. But Kidd, who led the Nets to two straight NBA Finals upon arriving in 2001, has five years and approximately $88 million remaining on the $103 million deal he signed last summer. He will also have surgery on his left knee but has yet to set a date.

There is a certain logic to trading Kidd. His contract is burdensome, and the left knee that troubled him throughout the season will most likely require surgery in the coming weeks. The potential for surgery has led some to ask how a player whose game is so predicated on agility will perform if slowed.

i still think we will be able to trade kittles and get rid of debo/lu by either buying them out of package them up. and maybe we could throw zo's contract to a team who wants to free up cap next year. i think it can be done, and i think rod is the guy that can do it. i dont know why we have to clear all the cap this year. why cant it be next year when everyone comes off our books, dam!

What's the point of trading Jason Kidd? To receive players for the future? Every other point is idiotic too. Kidd is a player whose skills won't diminish no matter how old he gets as he's the future of the Nets. He is one of the best in leading a team and the best in generating an offense. Those aren't things that will diminish. It's athleticism that diminishes. Why does every GM or every rumor say that every superstar will be traded? Leave them alone.
