Wat do you guys think this cat is gonna be like once the real season begins?? He seems to have a great nose for the basket and better hands on offense than Ben ever did. If he can shoot free throws at 60% or better, I think he's a lock to get some good minutes this year, perhaps even pushing down Dice or Davis's minutes for the first half of the season. I really don't think this guy is gonna suffer from 'Darko' syndrome, he has a bright future here. His last game>played 30 minutes and got21 pts, 8 boards (4 offensive!!), 2 steals, 3 assists!!! And even though he didn't have a block, he's further along defensively than I expected from a 2nd year guy [IMG]) GOOO MAD MAX!!!

Yes, Jason Maxiel is a serious threat now - I love it, he's like Ben Wallace but with scoring! I hope he can totally replace Davis...I don't really care for him really...but yes, Maxiel is very, very impressive...I can't wait to see if Flip actually uses him...he better!

Maxiell has progressed a lot faster then I thought he would when he was drafted. Defensively he is a good rebounder and very lenky to get shot blocks, and his offensive game is a pleasent suprise for me, I never expected him to be this far along offensively so soon. Flip needs to give him at least a solid 15 minutes a game this season IMO.

Maxiell is a second coming-but better- of dale davis...He will be a great fit during the season, and it looks like Dale Davis will not be used that much this year. once again.

I read on ESPN that maxiel is the 4h big man already passing Davis. HE is behind Nazr, Sheed and Dyess. And Nazr will play around 30 minutes a night which is around 8 less than ben last year opening at least 8 minutes for Maxiel to play. Maxiel looks strong and so does Delfino. Amir johnson and Will Blalock look like they will be sent to the D-league but I have a feeling that Amir will get a chance this year with the pistons and will shine. Blalock looksl ike he might not crack the roster untill lindsey retires but our youth looks superb this year and we have the right mixture of vets and young players...the pistons could be a force for a while

I don't really like Maxi, it seems like the kid can't pass the ball for nothing. I love team players not ballhogs who shoots every single time he gets the ball.

He was good again last night towards the end of the game. He had some sweet dunks. I say forget Dale Davis for now and put Max into the rotation.

@DTP's comment:Sure, Max LOOKS unwilling sometimes to pass out of the post, but post offense is something that we've been missing for about a year and some change now. I'm just glad somebody's willing to shoot from down low. Dice and Sheed should call for the ball more on the low block, and from what I've seen from Nazr, he's a good passer from the block, he and Dice can pass out of the post while Sheed and Max should shoot unless doubled.

Maxiell can score and rebound. both in the post...he should be in front of Dale Davis now.I hope we can get Delfino enough minutes to keep him satisfied. hes a good slasher guard/small forward. and hes one of the best foreign defenders in the L.Whats in store for Dupree though?

I thought Dupree was going to get more minutes than Delfino. Now it seems like the Dupree signing was useless.Maxiel is a nice complement to a three point shooting team. What a steal last year. Amir, Acker, and Maxiel all have potential to be starters/role players on the Pistons.

He reminds me of Rick Mahorn. I just hope he gets a chance to play. The Pistons have been pretty hesitant with the young guys.

Thats a pretty accurate comparison. Both are gritty defenders who can score garbage points if needed.
