From the NYTimes: http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/sports/AP-...s-Starters.html <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">ATLANTA (AP) -- Atlanta Hawks starting guard Jason Terry and center Theo Ratliff were benched Wednesday night against Golden State after they were arrived late for a pregame warmup session. ``I think they're all good people,'' coach Terry Stotts said. ``It's just a question of being on time.'' Terry is averaging 18.2 points and 5.1 assists, and Ratliff is averaging 7.1 points and 6.6 rebounds. Guard Jacque Vaughn and center Nazr Mohammed started in place of Terry and Ratliff against the Warriors.</div> I definitely think they should have let this slide and not benched them, if it was any other team, then fine, but when you're the Hawks you need to have your star players in the game to fill the seats, or lack there of.
Fill the seats and fill the box score. Without those guys in the game its not much of a contest. However, I think Stotts is trying to shot the entire team that no player is above the rules, and it could mean that both or either is being shopped. I don't think Stotts would try to alienate star players without good reason.
All sources indicate hat Terry is on his way out. As soon as recently signed Free Agents can be traded my guess is the Hawks will ship him off to a team like the Jazz or Knicks.
Here is an article I found with some more in depth information than the NYTimes article above: http://www.ajc.com/sports/content/sports/c...oore/index.html

This franchise is spiraling into an abyss, Terry has to go, so does Ratliff. Diaw needs to start playing, he's about the brightest light for the ATL right now other than Shareef - who is probably on his way out as well.
