<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>It might seem like eons ago when Dick Jauron was running the Bears, but half of the team's starters were here when he left after the 2003 season.Four of the six Bears chosen to the Pro Bowl last season were starters under Jauron, too, so part of the foundation of the NFC's only undefeated team was put in place by the former coach who visits Sunday with the Buffalo Bills (noon, Ch. 2, 780-AM).It's not the first time the Bears have seen Jauron -- he was defensive coordinator in Detroit when they met him four times over the last two years -- but it's the first time they will see him as head coach.''It's going to be an awfully tough game for us,'' said Jauron, whose Bills did the Bears a favor in the NFC North on Sunday by defeating Minnesota to improve to 2-2. ''You look forward to every game. It's so competitive, and it's so difficult to win on a consistent basis. It's unbelievably exciting. In this particular case, it's more than that for me.''I loved living in Chicagoland, in the area, certainly was thrilled to have the opportunity to work there. So there's all those emotions that are added to it for me, too.''Jauron has been a hit so far in Buffalo, where the last two coaches -- Mike Mularkey and Gregg Williams -- fell out of favor with the public quickly. He communicates much better than the previous two, on the field and off, and the way he handles the game and presents himself has won over the locals. And then there is the fact that the Bills are in the thick of the AFC East race, narrowly losing at New England in Week 1.''He's awesome,'' Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher said. ''The Bills are running the ball and playing good defense, just like we did when he was here. They're playing very disciplined football. He's a great coach.''Jauron, who still has a home in the north suburbs, says he doesn't think he will have any unique insight from knowing the players. It helps that he already has faced the Bears since leaving. One who never strays far from the task at hand, he didn't in a teleconference with reporters.''Like everybody involved in it on both sides of the ball, all the focus is on the game,'' Jauron said. ''It'll be a great atmosphere to play a game in, always has been.''</div>http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/be...-dick05.article
